Set your staring point and range. Everything beyond will glow with all great gamma particles.
But don't worry!
Lugoli Liquid is your friend! Brew it with redstone and honeycomb, then go and explore beyond the radiated zone... Well at least as long as it is effective. It's effectivness is weaker every potion you drink on your expedition.
