///INTRODUCTION///
Rationcraft adds a bunch of foods and a method of canning that I felt, alone, fit the survival theme without being too intrusive, and when paired with other mods, helps progression, adds another point for roleplay, and helps to set a modpack theme.
Currently it adds many canned varieties of vanilla foods. It also adds six new food items besides the canned ones.
Hardtack, dry sausage, roasted dry sausage, sugar candy, Scho Ka Kola, and milk Scho Ka Kola.
The idea was to make a mod that adds rations that military forces have used over the course of history.
In the future I plan to add things like: canteens, chest loot items, tweaks and balance changes, maybe medicine of some sort, support for other mods, can opening, the ability to can a large variety of item combinations, a canning machine, salt, and more.
Important
as of July 29, 2024 Voidless Framework is required for the mod to work properly

///RECIPES & INFO///
You can make hardtack with 2 wheat and 1 bucket of water.
Hardtack can be stored by first crafting eight hardtack + a paper in the center of the crafting grid, then eight hardtack packets + a stick in the center of the crafting grid.
Hardtack:
Package of Hardtack:
Crate of Hardtack:
You can craft the package & the crate again to 'open them' back into what the original 8 (though you lose the paper and the stick). This allows you to carry eight stacks of hardtack in a stack of packages, or 64 stacks of hardtack in a stack of crates.
Cans take four iron ingots in the center top, center bottom, center left, and center right of the crafting grid for eight cans, or eight iron nuggets all around for one.

Eating canned food gives you used cans, which can be crafted back into 3 iron nuggets to recycle (at a small loss).
Many foods can be canned with 1 sugar, an empty can, and 1-2 of the food. Some have more complex recipes. Canned variants of food are improved a step from the food they contain.
Sugar candy can be obtained by smelting sugar, it can also be stored, but not in crates, by crafting 8 candy around 1 paper.

Dry sausage is four bonemeal around a porkchop, and it can be roasted.
Scho Ka Kola (caffeinated chocolate) can be made with 1 iron ingot, 1 redstone, 1 gunpowder, 1 sugar and three cocoa beans anywhere in the crafting grid, the milk variant can be made with 1 extra sugar, and a bucket of milk added.
///NOTES///
This mod is still a work in progress, the current version is a fair bit simpler than what I would like this to become.
At the moment, saturation on each of them is a little bit wonky. It'll be fixed in a future update soon.
You have full permission to use this in any modpack you like.

The original mod is by the creator Squeekblach. He made the version in 1.12.2 and I remade the mod in 1.20.1. Together we've implamented many of the updates he had planned. Below is a quote from him directly.
