Re: Chests
Re: Chests adds wood-specific chest variants to Minecraft Forge 1.7.10, letting your storage match the rest of your build instead of forcing the same vanilla chest everywhere.
This mod adds chest variants for the main wood types, along with matching trapped chests and chest minecarts, while keeping the overall feel close to vanilla.

Features
- Oak, Spruce, Birch, Jungle, Acacia, and Dark Oak chests
- Matching trapped chest variants
- Matching chest minecarts for regular chest variants
- Custom single and double chest textures for every wood type
- Vanilla-friendly crafting and behavior
- Support for common chest-based recipes such as hoppers, trapped chests, and chest minecarts
Design Goal
Re: Chests is meant to feel simple, cozy, and natural in a survival world.
The goal is not to replace Minecraft's style, but to expand it with chest variants that look like they always should have existed, similar to how different wood families already have their own doors, trapdoors, fences, and signs.
Compatibility Notes
- Built for Minecraft Forge 1.7.10
- Designed to stay close to vanilla chest behavior
- Different wood chest types do not merge into incorrect double chests
- Custom chest variants can still be converted for vanilla recipe compatibility where needed
Included Variants
Normal Chests
- Oak Chest
- Spruce Chest
- Birch Chest
- Jungle Chest
- Acacia Chest
- Dark Oak Chest
Trapped Chests
- Trapped Oak Chest
- Trapped Spruce Chest
- Trapped Birch Chest
- Trapped Jungle Chest
- Trapped Acacia Chest
- Trapped Dark Oak Chest
Chest Minecarts
- Oak Chest Minecart
- Spruce Chest Minecart
- Birch Chest Minecart
- Jungle Chest Minecart
- Acacia Chest Minecart
- Dark Oak Chest Minecart

Planned Future Support
Re: Chests is still growing, and I want to expand it with support for more major mods from the 1.7.10 ecosystem.
Planned compatibility and themed chest support includes:
- Biomes O' Plenty
- Natura
- Thaumcraft
- Tinkers' Construct
- Botania
- IndustrialCraft 2
I would also like to explore support for other well-known 1.7.10 mods, such as:
- Forestry
- Railcraft
- BuildCraft
- Ender IO
- Applied Energistics 2
- Extra Utilities
- ProjectRed
- Storage Drawers
- Witchery
- Ars Magica 2
Suggestions
If there is a mod you would like to see supported, feel free to suggest it.
Re: Chests is meant to grow into a cozy storage expansion for classic 1.7.10 modpacks, so feedback and ideas are always welcome.
Why This Mod?
If you like building with specific wood palettes, the vanilla chest often stands out in the wrong way. Re: Chests fixes that by giving you storage that actually fits cabins, villages, workshops, warehouses, and cozy survival bases.
Credits
This mod was created for players who want more visual variety in storage without losing the classic Minecraft feel.
