Description

Rocket Jump - No Elytra Required

As a mobility solution for early game, or for when you want to keep your chestplate on, this mod lets you boost using firework rockets without elytra.

Be careful though; gliding is not included!

Full List of Features (version 1.0.1)

  • Allow firework rocket boosting without elytra equipped (on by default)
  • Easy takeoff: with elytra equipped, using a firework rocket will make you start flying (on by default)

  • Change whether firework rockets can be lit off by using them on blocks
  • Prevent empty rockets (no firework stars) from being lit (on by default).
  • Prevent all rockets from being lit (off by default)

  • Prevent using rockets to boost while a rocket boost is already active (on by default).
  • This prevents wasting rockets in-flight by boosting before the last rocket has run out.
  • With this option enabled, you can hold down the use button to re-boost with perfect timing!

  • Prevent boosting with rockets that have firework stars (off by default)

  • Change the acceleration and top speed of rocket flight! (by default, flight physics is not changed.)
  • If enabled, you can configure the two parameters that control rocket flight.
  • This enables changing the maximum speed, and rate of acceleration, of rocket flight.
  • Details about the parameters can be found in the config file.

  • Attach fireworks to mobs! (enabled by default)
  • Using a firework rocket on an entity will attach it to that entity, and launch it into the air!
  • Makes for a convenient way to get enemies out of your face, or a very inconvenient way to harvest your farm animals.
  • By default, you cannot attach rockets to other players, but there's a config option to enable that.

Versions & Plans

Minecraft versions:

  • Supported: 1.19.2
  • Planned: 1.19.x, 1.20.x, any future versions

Loaders:

  • Supported: Forge 43.x
  • Planned: Fabric

Ideas for additional features:

  • Prevent damage knockback from slowing down elytra flight
  • Implement dispenser behavior for attaching rockets to entities
  • Change air friction so that you don't slow down as fast after rocket boosts end without elytra equipped
