About

Description

Welcome to Taldain!

Overview

The Cosmere is a universe devised by Brandon Sanderson, encompassing many worlds, each with their own variation of magic. This mod aims to bring all of Sand mastery to Minecraft itself... eventually.

Current (partially implemented) Features

Sandmastery - White Sand Involves manipulation of white sand at the cost of the user's internal water supply. In addition, white sand that has been manipulated will turn black, becoming unresponsive. Black sand turns white again with the help of investiture whether it be from allomancy, surgebinding, or even just sunlight on taldain.

###Player Abilities

  • Launch: Can't quite make that jump across a chasm? Give yourself a boost by launching yourself with sand!
  • Elevate: Maybe you just need a boost to the top of your tower? Lift yourself up high into the air with an elevator of sand!
  • Cushion: After doing these things that sure is a long way down.. Don't worry, sand is there to catch you without thought!
  • Projectile: Maybe you need something offensive in your utility belt? We've got an offensive power too! Shoot sand at your enemies!
  • And more in progress! This is less than half of the player's available abilities, you'll just have to wait and see what else we've got up our sleeve.

###Items

  • Jar: something to hold a single layer of taldain sand, right click taldain sand to pick up a layer.
  • Sand Jar: This can be found in various loot chests, but it's most common in desert temples. It contains 1 layer of Taldain sand to get you started if you can't get to Taldain itself. right click to place the sand contained inside
  • Qido: Mastering sand uses up your water, be careful not to get dehydrated! A qido is a water container for you to carry around water to drink.
  • Sand Pouch: This is an essential item for a sand master. It holds the sand for you to use your abilities. Don't forget to charge it up. It's max charge is determined by how much Taldain sand it contains.

###Blocks

  • Taldain Sand: An essential. Sand mastery can't exist without this sand, it can charge up in the sunlight on taldain, or if you can't access taldain it will charge via allomancy or surgebinding use nearby
  • Taldain Sand Layer: Same as the block of taldain sand, just in the form of layers. 8 layers stacked will become a full block
  • Sand Jar: This is a block that can mechanically detect investiture use nearby. Note that it can't detect sandmastery as that would not charge taldanian sand. For every tick of investiture it detects nearby, it will charge up to a maximum of 100, this can be read out by a comparator. It will start to discharge immediately if the investiture moves away.

###Dimension

  • Dayside Taldain: This is where Sand Mastery originates, it's a vast hilly and mountainous desert covered in a white sand. (WIP, can't currently access without cheats)

Inter-Mod Compatibilities

###Leafy's Cosmere Mod Compatibilities Cosmere - Required - This is the library that weaves the mods together

Allomancy - Optional - Many types of investiture to choose from for charging your sand. Copper clouds can hide investiture use from a sand jar block, it can also block someone from charging their sand with investiture of their own.

Surgebinding - Optional - Surgebinding is another form of investiture that can be used to charge up your sand.

###Non-Cosmere Compatibilities JEI - Optional but Highly Recommended - because recipes are forever plentiful and who wants to have to google them all the time.

HWYLA - Optional - Going to be including ways to get more info out of what you're looking at!

Patchouli - Optional - because I love well done in-game wiki/guidance (which mine is not well done... or at all existing, yet. I will get to it!)

Known Issues

  • Sand pouch charge doesn't properly display when in the belt curious slot
  • Sand pouch is not fillable on servers
  • Activating any sandmastery ability with a hotkey on a server will get you stuck in a kick-loop
