About
Description
SCorpse
SCorpse is a corpse and inventory recovery mod for Minecraft Fabric and NeoForge.
When a player dies, their inventory is safely stored inside a persistent corpse at the death location.
The corpse uses the player's appearance, supports compatible accessory slots, protects items from other players for a limited time and provides a recovery compass to help the owner find their body.
✨ Features
Player Corpse
When a player dies, SCorpse creates a corpse at the death location.
The corpse:
- Uses the player's skin
- Lies on the ground instead of using an Armor Stand
- Stores the player's inventory
- Stores armor and offhand items
- Supports compatible accessory slots
- Remains persistent after server restarts
- Keeps its inventory safely stored until recovered
The corpse acts as the player's death inventory and can be opened normally to recover items.
Inventory Recovery
Your inventory is transferred to the corpse when you die.
Supported inventory includes:
- Main inventory
- Hotbar
- Armor
- Offhand
- Compatible artifact/accessory slots
Items can be taken directly from the corpse inventory.
If:
keepInventory=true
SCorpse does not create a corpse.
Owner Protection
New corpses are protected for:
25 minutes
During this time, only the owner can access the corpse.
After the protection period expires, the corpse becomes available to other players.
This helps prevent other players from immediately stealing items after a death while still allowing abandoned corpses to eventually be recovered.
Automatic Cleanup
SCorpse automatically removes corpses that no longer contain any items.
An empty corpse is removed after:
15 seconds
Corpses containing items are preserved.
Recovery Compass
After respawning, the player receives a recovery compass linked to their corpse.
The compass displays:
- Corpse coordinates
- Distance to the corpse
- Direction toward the corpse
Example:
X: 120
Y: 64
Z: -350
Distance: 100m
The compass remains linked until the corpse is removed.
Right-clicking the recovery compass can highlight the corpse with a glowing effect, making it easier to locate nearby.
Corpse Position
After death, SCorpse sends the corpse position to the player.
The message includes the exact:
X Y Z
coordinates of the corpse.
This provides a second way to find your items even if the recovery compass is lost.
Persistent Corpses
Corpse data is stored with the world.
This means corpses and their inventories remain available after:
- Server restarts
- World reloads
- Player reconnects
Items are not dependent on the player remaining online.
Player Appearance
SCorpse renders the corpse using the player's appearance instead of a generic container or Armor Stand.
The corpse supports the normal player model and skin system.
SCorpse is also designed to work with compatible player-model modifications such as Customizable Player Models.
Accessory Support
SCorpse can preserve compatible extra equipment slots when supported accessory mods are installed.
Depending on the Minecraft version and mod loader, compatible integrations can include:
- Trinkets
- Accessories
- Curios
- Artifact equipment using compatible slot APIs
Accessory integrations are optional.
SCorpse continues working normally when no accessory mod is installed.
