What is Seiðr?
Seiðr (Seidr) is a simple magic mod that goes over magic found in the Norse Mythology.
It doesn't include extra mechanics such as Mana bars, it's more vanilla driven and versatile, so that a larger playerbase and modpacks can add it without much thought.
The mod focuses mainly on the Galðr branch of Norse magic, which consist of singing incantations, but will include other variations in the future as well.
So what does the mod add?
I just talked about incantations, but how do they work? Simple, throughout your Minecraft world you will find special Tablets of different kinds, much like Armor Trims, based on where you find them.
These Tablets on their own do nothing, but they have some writings on them. Surrounding them in a Crafting Table with paper will allow you to unleash their actual power.

This will allow you to get Scrolls, which give access to their magic power by using them and singing their incantations.
Once the singing is done the Scroll will activate. Different Scrolls have different duration and cooldown times based on their effects. Some Scrolls are variation of other ones, and will be rarer and more effective.
Tablets can also be duplicated like Trims with Gold, Emeralds or Diamonds.
Remember that!
A list of the currently introduced Spells:
- Attraction (Will attract animals in your vicinity);
- Effect Remove;
- Resistance (Leveled);
- Summon Undead (Leveled);
- Sonic Boom (Uses the Warden's attack);
- Fireball;
- Water Walk (Leveled);
