Shun Borderless Fullscreen

Play in a borderless window that fills your monitor, with a persistent toggle in Video Settings.

Features

  • Borderless fullscreen is enabled by default and remembered between launches.
  • Switch back to an ordinary window from Video Settings.
  • F11 temporarily switches window/fullscreen mode.
  • Integrates with the Embeddium video settings screen.
  • Supports the Windows auto-hide taskbar while the cursor is released, such as in inventory or chat.

Installation

Requires Minecraft Java 1.20.1, Forge 47.x, and Java 17. Install the JAR in your client mods folder. No server installation or additional mod is required. Remove older copies before installing an update.

Settings

Open Options > Video Settings > Borderless Fullscreen. With Embeddium, use the Display tab and Apply. The setting is also stored in config/borderless-fullscreen.properties; set enabled=false while the game is closed to disable automatic borderless startup. Borderless mode uses your current desktop resolution.

Compatibility

Tested on Windows with Forge 47.4.10, Embeddium 0.3.31, Oculus 1.8.0, and Complementary Unbound r5.8.1. Other fullscreen-control mods, OptiFine, multiple monitors with mixed DPI, macOS, and Linux are untested. Changing Windows taskbar auto-hide while the game is running may require toggling borderless off and on.
