Sigils of Ruin: Natural Disasters

By Aqua Future

Place an ancient Sigil. Everyone nearby gets a 5-second evacuation countdown. Then the disaster hits, and it really changes the world.

The Eight Disasters

- 🌋 Volcano: a real cone of volcanic rock rises from the ground and erupts with lava fountains, volcanic bombs, lava rivers and ash fall. It leaves behind a dormant volcano that can erupt again.
- 🌪️ Tornado: a towering funnel rips up trees, soil and buildings and flings mobs, players and debris. At intensity III you get an EF5 with satellite vortices.
- 🌍 Earthquake: screen shake, deep fissures, collapsing structures, rising ridges and aftershocks.
- 🌊 Tsunami: the sea draws back, then a giant wave floods the land and recedes, leaving wet sand and stranded fish.
- ☄️ Meteor Shower: burning meteors carve bowl-shaped craters that hold Meteoric Iron. At intensity V it ends with the Extinction asteroid.
- ❄️ Blizzard: a white-out with deep snowdrifts, black ice, hail and freezing cold.
- ⚡ Supercell: a huge storm cloud with lightning, ball lightning and giant hail. Lightning rods are real counterplay.
- 🔥 Wildfire: wind-driven flames that jump gaps and leave charred forests behind.

The World-Scale Sigils

Back up your world first. Tier V Meteor Shower and tier IV Annihilation permanently reshape thousands of blocks and cannot be undone.

- ☄️ Meteor Shower V, Extinction: an asteroid 3,000 blocks across, visible from everywhere, descends over minutes. It ends in a vaporization front, a shockwave, an impact winter and a crater about 6,000 blocks wide with a central peak, terraced walls and an Impact Monolith.
- ☢️ Annihilation IV, Doomsday: a falling warhead, a fireball hundreds of blocks wide (ground or air burst), a 360-block crater, devastation rings, a four-minute mushroom cloud and a fallout plume downwind.
- 🌕 Sigil of Moonfall: the moon swells and reddens, tides creep over the shores, gravity weakens, moon fragments rain down, then it slams down beyond the horizon and leaves a permanent crater.
- 🕳️ Sigil of the Black Hole: a singularity with a photon ring, accretion disk and polar jets pulls in entities, stretches what comes near and tears up the ground, then evaporates in a flash. Gravitational lensing can be switched off in the client config.
- 🌐 Sigil of the Continental Rift: foreshocks, then a canyon opens in three stages with a magma channel, buckling ridges, landslides and steam vents.
- 🌀 Sigil of Gravity Collapse: gravity inverts, the ground tears loose into floating islands and water lifts out as blobs. Then gravity slams back and everything crashes down.
- ☀️ Sigil of Solar Detonation: the sun swells and fills the sky, Heatstroke builds, plasma walls cross the land, then it goes nova and a melt front leaves Slag, Solar Glass and Salt Flats. Shade, water, the Sunshade and the Solar Shield Cloak protect you.
- Persistent Deformation Fields: permanent changes are applied chunk by chunk as chunks load. They never load or generate a chunk, and they resume after a restart.
- Safety rails: a second confirmation before mega events, an Overworld-only rule, and /disaster field cancel.
- New blocks, items, mob effects, a buried Ruined World-Scale Altar structure and 7 more advancements.

The Sigil of the Titans

- 🗿⚡ Two colossal titans fight to the death across the land around the sigil: Terrakar, the Stoneback, a stone brawler with magma seams and crystal horns, against Volthyrax, the Stormwyrm, a lightning-veined striker.
- Three sizes: titans 40, 70 or 110 blocks tall, with fight radii of 150, 280 or 450 blocks. A fight lasts about 8–10 minutes.
- Boulders, a Quake Crown of cracks and stone spikes, a Seismic Charge trench, a Thunder Breath that glasses the ground, and a Storm Surge with flash floods. Grapples, throws and body slams carve craters and skid trenches into the land.
- A fair coin decides the winner, and nothing shows it until the final blow. The loser leaves a landmark: the Petrified Stoneback or the Fallen Stormwyrm Remains. You can mine them for Titan Heart Shards, Terrakar Plates and Volthyrax Scales.
- You never lose control. Title cards, a vitality HUD, screen shake, hit-stop and death scenes play around you. An optional cinematic camera mode is available.
- Safe to watch: warning rings before big hits, a damage cap per hit, shelter in bunkers, and rescue if you get buried.
- New gear: Titanstone and Stormscale armour, the Titan's Echo and the Titan Spyglass.

The Cataclysm Tier, Annihilation and the Seven Trumpets

- ☠️ Intensity IV, Cataclysm for the Volcano, Meteor Shower and Tornado: a crimson-and-gold sigil, a 10-second countdown with a red pulse, and three of the biggest events in the mod:
  - Extinction Event: colossal meteors 20–40 blocks across fall slowly out of the sky and leave 60–100 block craters lined with Impact Glass.
  - Supervolcano: a mountain up to 250 blocks wide rises, erupts with a towering ash column and collapses into a lava-filled caldera, with pyroclastic flows racing down its sides.
  - Wedge Monster: a 100-block wedge tornado with orbiting sub-vortices that lifts stone, buildings and players.
- ☢️ Sigil of Annihilation: an air-raid siren, then a white-out flash, a fireball, a visible shockwave, destruction in rings and a mushroom cloud. Fallout leaves a Radiation Zone. Survive it with the Hazmat Suit, Geiger Counter, Rad-Away and the Blast Door.
- 🎺 Sigil of the Seven Trumpets: an eight-minute event in seven stages, after Revelation 8–11: burning hail, a burning mountain falling into the sea, the star Wormwood, a darkened sky, Abyssal Locusts, Abyssal Riders and a final storm, then silence and golden light.
- Sounds that arrive at the speed of sound, line-of-sight flashes (with a photosensitivity setting) and fog-free volumetric clouds.

Features
- Three intensity levels, plus a fourth (Cataclysm) for the Volcano, Meteor Shower and Tornado (sneak + use the sigil to cycle them)
- Cinematic effects: screen shake, sky and fog tint, a HUD warning, custom particles and sounds
- Counterplay: the Calming Sigil, Warding Stone, Disaster Siren, Seismograph, Storm Cellar Hatch and Disaster Tracker
- New materials: Volcanic Rock, Sulfur, Meteoric Iron gear, Charred Wood, Black Ice, Fulgurite and more
- Runic Carving Table for crafting sigils from Sigil Shards found in Ruined Rune Circles
- 40+ advancements and the /disaster command (start, stop, list, debug, stage, skip, radiation clear and titans clearScars and field)
- Fully configurable: turn off block destruction, set radius and duration per disaster, set screen-shake strength
- Performance-safe: a world-edit budget per tick, never loads chunks, and respects spawn protection

Requirements
- Minecraft 1.20.1
- Forge 47.4.10+
- Install on both client and server
