Skyboxify 1.20.1 Fabric Backport

An unofficial community backport of Skyboxify / OptiBoxes for Minecraft 1.20.1 on Fabric. It is independent from and not endorsed by the upstream maintainers.

Features

  • Reads OptiFine/MCPatcher sky properties from enabled resource packs.
  • Renders cubemap sky layers in the Overworld, Nether, and End.
  • Supports the upstream property format for time fades, blend modes, rotation, weather, biome, height, and day conditions.
  • Includes a Mod Menu configuration entry and a debug command.

Installation

Install Fabric Loader for Minecraft 1.20.1 and Fabric API. Mod Menu is optional. Add a compatible OptiFine/MCPatcher sky resource pack, enable it in Resource Packs, and use the normal F3+T reload after changing packs.

Testing and limitations

Smoke-tested in a Minecraft 1.20.1 client with Fabric Loader 0.16.14, Fabric API 0.92.2+1.20.1, and Mod Menu 7.2.2. A six-color cubemap test pack was detected and rendered in a new world, persisted after F3+T reload, and appeared in /optiboxes debug. The configuration screen also opened and closed successfully. This smoke test does not certify every resource pack, Iris, shader packs, or compatibility with other rendering mods.
