About

Description

Slash Essentials

Slash Essentials adds the commands you use every day on a server: homes, warps, flight, quick game mode changes and teleport requests that players can accept in chat. It also adds /finditem, which helps you find a nearby block or the chest where you left an item.

Install it on the server and start using the commands. Players do not need Slash Essentials on their clients. For singleplayer, install it in your game profile. In-game messages are currently in Portuguese.

Teleport requests

Use /tpa Alex to ask to go to Alex, or /tpahere Alex to ask Alex to come to you. The other player receives ACEITAR (accept) and RECUSAR (deny) buttons in chat. Nothing moves until they accept.

You can also use:

/tpaccept
/tpaccept Alex
/tpdeny Alex
/tpcancel

If several people have sent you requests, click the one you want or include the sender's name. By default, requests expire after 60 seconds, have a 10-second cooldown and allow up to five pending requests per recipient. An expired, cancelled or already answered button cannot accept a later request.

Teleports check for standing room, a safe floor and the world border. Destinations in unloaded chunks are refused rather than generating terrain. This also applies to homes and warps, so a distant destination may need to be loaded before you can use it.

Find the item you put away

/finditem minecraft:diamond
/finditem minecraft:diamond 16
/finditem

The last example searches for the item in your hand. Matching placed blocks and containers holding that item receive a temporary glowing outline, visible only to you. The search does not move the items or change the blocks.

The default search radius is 16 blocks. Server owners can adjust it up to 32, with a maximum of 64 results per search. Outlines last 15 seconds by default. Searches run across multiple ticks and only inspect loaded chunks; they have work limits and a timeout to keep large searches under control.

Matching uses the item type, not its custom name, enchantments or other item data. Unopened vanilla loot chests are skipped so searching does not generate their loot. Standard block inventories are supported. Virtual storage networks and containers with their own APIs may need a separate integration.

/finditem requires OP or an explicit permission by default, since its outlines can reveal blocks and containers through walls.

Commands

Arguments in square brackets are optional.

Command What it does
/gm <0-3> [player] Sets survival (0), creative (1), adventure (2) or spectator (3).
/gms, /gmc, /gma, /gmsp Shortcuts for those four game modes; each also accepts an optional player.
/fly [on\|off] [player] Toggles flight, or explicitly turns it on or off.
/tpall [player] Brings everyone else to you, or to the named player.
/toparea Takes you to the highest safe solid surface at your current X/Z position.
/back Returns to your previous Slash Essentials teleport location during this session.
/sethome [name], /home [name] Saves or visits a personal home. The default name is home.
/delhome [name], /homes Removes a home or lists your homes.
/spawn, /setspawn Visits the shared spawn or sets a custom one for this mod.
/warp <name>, /warps Visits or lists shared warps.
/setwarp <name>, /delwarp <name> Creates or removes a shared warp.
/heal [player] Restores health and hunger and extinguishes fire.
/feed [player], /extinguish [player] Restores hunger or puts out fire.
/day, /night, /sun, /rain Changes the vanilla world time or weather.
/slashessentials help Lists the commands you are allowed to use.
/slashessentials reload Reloads the configuration.

Players can save five homes by default. Homes, warps and the custom spawn survive server restarts. /back is session-only and does not save death locations or teleports performed by other mods.

Flight cleanup preserves creative/spectator flight and flight that another mod had already enabled. Time changes follow vanilla behavior; versions with shared world time can affect more than one dimension.

Every command also works under /slashessentials, such as /slashessentials fly. Use that form if another mod has taken a short command name. Slash Essentials preserves aliases already present when it registers and leaves vanilla /help and /reload alone.

Permissions and configuration

Homes, spawn, warp visits and accepted teleport requests are available to ordinary players by default. Administrative commands, including /gm, /fly, /tpall, /toparea, /finditem, /back and healing tools, require OP level 2 unless you grant a permission.

You can use the local configuration without installing a permissions mod. LuckPerms is optional, and other mods can integrate through the included permission-provider API.

Permission nodes start with slashessentials.. The nodes below use that prefix; OP means vanilla operator level 2 when no explicit permission rule overrides the default.

Commands Default access Permission nodes after slashessentials.
/gm, /gms, /gmc, /gma, /gmsp OP gm; additional gm.0 through gm.3; gm.others for another player
/fly OP fly, fly.others
/tpall, /toparea, /finditem, /back OP tpall, toparea, finditem, back, respectively
/tpa, /tpahere, /tpaccept, /tpdeny, /tpcancel Everyone One matching node for each command
/sethome, /home, /delhome, /homes Everyone One matching node for each command
/spawn, /warps Everyone spawn, warps
/warp <name> Everyone warp; additional warp.<name> restriction
/setspawn, /setwarp, /delwarp OP One matching node for each command
/heal, /feed, /extinguish OP One matching node for each command; additional <command>.others
/day, /night, /sun, /rain OP One matching node for each command
/slashessentials help Everyone help
/slashessentials reload OP reload

For example, when LuckPerms is installed:

/lp group vip permission set slashessentials.fly true
/lp group moderator permission set slashessentials.finditem true
/lp group admin permission set slashessentials.* true

Changing another player's game mode, flight, health or hunger also requires the corresponding .others node, such as slashessentials.fly.others. You can restrict individual modes with slashessentials.gm.0 through slashessentials.gm.3, and individual warps with slashessentials.warp.<name>. Those checks are additional to the base command permission.

Configuration is saved in config/slash-essentials.properties:

# Disable tpall for players, including OPs
command.tpall.enabled=false

# Allow everyone to heal themselves
permission.default.slashessentials.heal=true

# Change the personal home limit
homes.max-per-player=5

# Adjust item search defaults
find.radius=16
find.max-radius=32
find.max-results=64
find.duration-seconds=15

For a local per-player rule, use permission.<player-uuid>.<permission-node>=true or false. Rules are checked in this order: a player's local UUID rule, the local default rule, an external provider, then the command's default. Exact local nodes take priority over trailing .* wildcards. Explicit denial overrides OP fallback; a detected provider error does not grant administrative access. Commands check permissions on the server, and teleport requests are checked again when accepted.

Homes, warps and spawn data are stored in the world's slash-essentials folder. Keep that folder with your world backups.

Downloads and installation

Choose one JAR for your exact Minecraft version and loader, put it in mods, then restart. Fabric API is not required. Slash Essentials does not depend on any other Slash mod.

Minecraft Loaders Java

26.1.2, 26.2, 26.3 Fabric, Forge, NeoForge 25

There are 43 separate builds across these 16 Minecraft versions. A file for one row does not cover unlisted patches or other loaders.

All 43 release files have passed archive, metadata, Java-target and current-source-fingerprint inspection. The existing automated evidence includes 103 shared-core checks and 16 LuckPerms API-contract checks. Native dedicated-server checks cover Forge 1.12.2 (41), Forge 1.20.1 (65), and Fabric, Forge and NeoForge 26.3 (63 each); that is not a claim that all 43 combinations received gameplay QA. These results were reviewed for this release, without rerunning gameplay for this publication update. Connected-client visuals, shaders, live permission setups and full modpack play still need testing. Search limits help control the work, but performance also depends on the server and the inventories supplied by other mods.
