Slower Progression

Adds gradual tool and armor upgrade paths through the smithing table.

Dependencies

Required

  • Simplest Copper Gear - provides the copper armor and tools used in the upgrade paths. Declared as a required dependency and pulled in automatically by Gradle.

Optional

  • Just Enough Items (JEI) - when installed, all smithing-table upgrade recipes are shown in their own JEI category with the correct material counts.

What it does

  • Replaces the vanilla smithing table interaction with a custom upgrade menu.
  • Adds count-aware upgrade recipes: place the base item plus the required amount of material in the smithing table to receive the upgraded item.
  • Preserves item components (enchantments, custom names, durability, etc.) from the base item.
  • Overrides the vanilla smithing table crafting recipe so it no longer requires iron.
  • Disables direct crafting for all higher-tier tools and armor - they can only be obtained by upgrading at the smithing table. Wooden tools and leather armor remain craftable.
