Full description

Solo Leveling: Shadows

A fan-made Minecraft mod inspired by Solo Leveling. Become a Shadow Monarch: collect souls from defeated creatures, store them in your Soul Archive, and summon them back as loyal shadows that fight, support, and empower you.

Not affiliated with the official Solo Leveling rights holders.

Getting started

  1. Obtain and eat the Soul Apple to awaken your shadow powers.
  2. Open the Soul Menu and turn Capture ON.
  3. Kill hostile mobs — souls can be extracted and stored in your archive.
  4. Summon shadows from stock and use them in combat.

Your soul inventory, active shadows, and progression are shown on the HUD (top-right).

Controls (default keys — rebind in Controls)

Key Action
M
Open Soul Menu (archive, capture toggle, summon/discard)
X
Summon all available souls from stock
P
Recall all active shadows back to inventory
V
Use active shadow ability (requires a deployed shadow with an ability)

Souls & shadows

  • Normal souls — most hostile mobs (zombie, skeleton, spider, blaze, enderman, etc.).
  • Special souls — rare/boss-tier captures (e.g. Wither, Ender Dragon); can be incorporated for temporary player buffs.
  • Support shadows — passive utility mobs (e.g. squid, bat, chicken) that grant buffs while deployed.
  • Impure souls — some mobs cannot be kept as permanent shadows.

Soul storage starts small and grows with your Shadow Level (up to 20 souls). You can keep up to 10 combat shadows active at once.

Active abilities (V)

Requires the matching shadow type to be deployed. Examples:

  • Enderman — Dark Teleport (short-range blink)
  • Ender Dragon — Monarch’s Breath
  • Wither — Soul Tempest
  • Blaze — Soul Inferno (fire volley)
  • Wither Skeleton — Executor’s Strike (cone melee with Wither)
  • Witch — Monarch’s Elixir (cleanses debuffs, grants regen/resistance)
  • Skeleton / Stray — Shadow Barrage
  • Spider / Cave Spider — Predator’s Leap

Abilities have cooldowns. Aim at targets to prioritize nearby shadows.

Passive buffs (while shadow is deployed)

Examples:

  • Bat — Night Vision; sneak to highlight nearby mobs
  • Squid — Walk on water, Night Vision underwater, Water Breathing & Speed in water
  • Chicken — Slow fall
  • Polar Bear — Frost underfoot, slow nearby enemies
  • Iron Golem — Resistance
  • Ocelot — Creepers avoid you
  • Ender Dragon / Wither — Fall immunity while active

Many mobs have unique combat stats as shadows.

How to level up (Shadow Level)

  • Kill hostile mobs while your powers are active.
  • 10 hostile kills = 1 Shadow Level (max level 25).
  • Each level increases soul storage (+2 slots per level, from 2 up to 20).
  • Higher levels allow more active shadows in the field.

Progress is saved per player. A backup system helps recover lost soul data on login.

Other features

  • Dramatic shadow emergence animation when summoning
  • Soul mist extraction on kill
  • Anti-Soul Apple — seals shadow powers (for balance / roleplay)
  • Soul sacrifice — a stored soul can save you from a fatal hit
  • Full soul menu: summon by type, discard souls, incorporate specials, scrollable list

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.12.2
  • Minecraft Forge
