Spartan Shields (Unofficial Port)
📜 Original mod
This is an unofficial port of Spartan Shields 3.1.1 by ObliviousSpartan (Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge). Original source: github.com/ObliviousSpartan/SpartanShields, license Apache-2.0, which allows derivative works. All of the content, art and ideas are the original authors'.
How this port differs from the original
- Runs on Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge; the original stops at 1.20.1 Forge. Content, recipes and numbers are those of 3.1.1.
- Fixes bugs of the original: the out-of-memory crash on launch in big packs (#10),
vanilla_onlyhaving no effect (#1), uncraftable shields cluttering JEI (#6), the unclear bash key in the tooltip (#4). - Powered shields use the configured energy per point of blocked damage, and the server checks the reach of a Shield Bash.
Raise your shield. Then hit them with it.
Spartan Shields by ObliviousSpartan brought 64 shields, tower shields with banners and the Shield Bash to Minecraft 1.20.1, and stopped there. This port carries all of its content to Minecraft 1.21.1 for NeoForge and fixes the bugs of the original.

Features
- 64 shields: a basic and a tower variant for wood, stone, copper, iron, gold, diamond, netherite and obsidian.
- Modded metals: tin, bronze, steel, silver, electrum, lead, nickel, invar, constantan, platinum, aluminium, signalum, lumium, enderium. A shield appears as soon as some mod adds its ingots (
c:ingots/<metal>). - Mekanism, Ender IO and Botania shields; powered shields run on energy instead of durability.
- Tower shields: bigger and tougher (+25 % durability), drawn in 3D, and take banners like the vanilla shield.
- Shield Bash: hold your shield up and press attack for a little damage and a big knockback; tower shields hit everything around the target. Works with the vanilla shield too.
- Enchantments: Spikes hurts whoever hits your raised shield, Firebrand sets bashed foes on fire, Payback charges your next bash with the damage you blocked.
- Special metals: silver hurts the undead, signalum weakens, lumium makes foes glow, enderium slows them, obsidian is heavy but nearly unmovable.
- Configurable: durability of every material, bash cooldowns, energy use; turn off any modded material or all of them. Shields of missing mods leave the creative tab and JEI.
- 6 languages: English, Russian, Ukrainian, German, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil).
