ETF Spawn Memory
This mod works thanks to Entity Texture Features and a resource pack of your choice, without them it doesnt do anything.
If you use a resource pack with biome dependant skins you probably noticed that when you take a mob to another place and reload the world, it changes its skin to the new biome. the desert zombie you trapped and brought home turns into a normal zombie. this mod fixes that.
Mobs keep the skin of the biome (or height) where you first saw them, even after reloading.
- all the mobs skind data is saved inside your world folder, or in .minecraft/spawnmemory for servers
- mobs you dont see in 20 (real days) you play in that world get forgotten so the file doesnt get huge, you can change that or turn it off in the mods list(i dont really recomend changin it)
- named mobs are never forgotten, so if you really wanna be sure put a name tag on it
- mobs that die in front of you get forgotten
This mod is client only.
if you also dont want to or dont know how to add modded biomes for each variant in every resource pack you use, then try my other mod biomebridge that automatically adds the modded biomes to each resource pack and its skins variations.
Known issues
- It remembers where you first see the mob, not where it spawned. if it walked to another biome before you saw it, that biome is the one it keeps.
- Mobs that already existed before installing the mod are remembered from the next time you see them.
- If for some reason the file cant be found or read the mobs will lose their current skin.
- if you update Etf and something changes in it the game will crash until i see whats new.
- some resource packs work diferent so there may be some issues.
If you find any other erros or you have suggestion please report it on the mod page.
