About

Description

NOTE: This mod needs ShadowizardLib to work.

New magic system

This mod adds a new magic system inspired by the Elder Scrolls games, specifically Daggerfall. The player has a new resource called Mana which is displayed above your hunger bar and is depleted by casting spells.

New materials and machines

Refine materials using new magical apparatus like the Calcinator which takes fuel to turn items into ashes and dusts. Currently Wooden Logs, Gunpowder, Fermented Spider Eye, Apples, Amethysts, Ender Pearls, and Glow Ink Sacs can be put in the Calcinator.

Sigils and spell making

The new materials are used to craft Sigils which can be used on the new Spell Making Table to dictate what your spell does. Making a spell takes Parchment in addition to the Sigils. While making a spell you can edit the ratio of effectiveness for each sigil by increasing or decreasing its magnitude and duration. Magnitude usually increases the strength and duration the length of time the spell's effect is active.

Casting spells

Finally you can add your completed spell into a Spell Book on a crafting table. To select your spell, simply open your Spell Book and click the spell you want to have readied. Using your staff will cast your readied spell at the cost of mana.

Magical equipment

In addition to the Wooden Staff, you can craft Wool Cloth and use it to make a set of Simple Robes to increase your maximum mana. The new equipment gives other nice bonuses to spellcasting, like discounts to spell casting cost.

Planned features

Currently I'd say that while the mod is fully playable, it is in more of a beta state. I have plans to expand and add new tiers of Sigils and Equipment as well as new ways to craft them. Maybe some new mobs too.
