ITM's Sprint Equalizer
No reviews yet
Makes ground sprinting match the average speed of vanilla sprint-jumping, making bunny hopping optional. Configurable and server-synced.
Includes quality of life improvements and small tweaks to enhance and customize gameplay.
Forge is a popular mod loader for versions 1.1+ of Minecraft.
Neoforge is a fork of the Minecraft Forge available for versions 1.20.1+ of Minecraft. Many Forge mods are compatible with Neoforge and vice versa.
Fabric is a mod loader for versions 1.14+ of Minecraft, particularly popular for client side and optimization mods.

Description
Sprint Equalizer
Run at sprint-jump speed without constantly bunny hopping.
In vanilla Minecraft, repeated sprint-jumping is noticeably faster than sprinting along the ground. This encourages players to jump throughout ordinary travel even when the terrain does not call for it.
Sprint Equalizer makes ground sprinting match the average speed of vanilla sprint-jumping. It also adjusts the additional horizontal impulse from sprint-jumps so that jumping does not become the faster option again.
Normal jumping remains unchanged: the mod does not alter jump height or add a new movement ability.
Run when you want to run. Jump when you actually need to.
Features
- Ground sprinting matches the average speed of vanilla sprint-jumping.
- Sprint-jumping remains available without providing another speed advantage.
- No new items, key bindings, status effects, or movement abilities.
- Configurable movement coefficients with server-controlled synchronization.
- Responsive client prediction with server-authoritative movement.
- Optional per-player enable/disable command with persistent preferences.
- Support for Forge, NeoForge, and Fabric.
Default behavior
With the default settings, sustained ground sprinting and sustained sprint-jumping both average approximately 7.13 blocks per second while moving forward across ordinary terrain.
The default coefficients are mathematically calibrated for standard vanilla movement. Ice, unusual block friction, low ceilings, collisions, status effects, and movement changes from other mods can affect exact measured speeds.
Player commands
Players can control the mechanic for themselves without operator permissions:
/sprintequalizer
/sprintequalizer on
/sprintequalizer off
/sprintequalizer toggle
The command affects only the player who uses it.
Server owners can disable personal switching through the configuration. Saved player preferences persist through deaths, reconnects, and server restarts, and become active again if personal switching is later re-enabled.
Configuration
Sprint Equalizer has four server-controlled settings:
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
enabled |
true |
Enables or disables the mechanic globally. |
allowPlayerToggle |
true |
Allows players to enable or disable the mechanic for themselves. |
groundSprintMultiplier |
1.26983964975591 |
Controls ground sprint speed relative to vanilla ground sprinting. |
sprintJumpImpulseMultiplier |
0.828112143105486 |
Controls the additional horizontal impulse received from sprint-jumping. |
Custom coefficients can create a slower, faster, or differently balanced movement model.
Installation and requirements
Supported platforms:
- Minecraft 1.20.1 - Forge
- Minecraft 1.21.1 - NeoForge
- Minecraft 26.1.2 - NeoForge
- Minecraft 26.1.2 - Fabric
Install the file matching both your exact Minecraft version and mod loader.
The mod must be installed on both the client and server. In singleplayer, installing it in the normal client mod folder covers both sides.
Fabric installations also require Fabric API.
Compatibility
Sprint Equalizer uses Minecraft's standard Movement Speed attribute and adjusts only the additional horizontal impulse produced by sprint-jumping. It does not change vertical jump height.
Speed and Slowness effects, unusual block friction, ice, low ceilings, collisions, and movement changes from other mods can affect the exact result. Mods that independently rebalance ground sprint speed or sprint-jump momentum may conflict.
Modpacks
You may include the unmodified mod in public or private modpacks without asking for permission.
Sprint Equalizer is distributed under the Apache License 2.0.
