Description

Pile 'Em Up! (Stackable Cushions)

Ever tried placing cushions on top of each other, only to watch them instantly break and drop as items? It gets annoying really fast.

This mod fixes that. Cushions can now be stacked directly on top of each other while sneaking, snapped to block sides at sub-pixel heights, and placed freely.

Features

  • Direct stacking: Sneak and right-click any placed cushion to stack another one right on top.
  • 16-pixel wall snapping: Attach cushions directly to the side faces of blocks aligned to any of the 16 vertical pixel heights.
  • Clean player harvesting: Cushions stay immune to physics glitches, but break normally when attacked by players (with proper item drops in Survival).
  • Stack chain limits: Prevents endless vertical towers from spamming right-click on the base cushion.

What can you use it for?

  • Modular furniture: Build sofas, thick lounge chairs, and ottomans with realistic multi-layer depth.
  • Beds & pet baskets: Design plush sleeping mats, dog beds, and colorful bunk cushions without hidden fences.
  • Market stalls & textiles: Create decorative piles of folded fabrics, rugs, and storage wares for markets and warehouses.
  • Windowsill seats & shelves: Use wall-snapping to place cozy stepped benches and perches at custom heights.

Configuration

Customize the mechanics to match your playstyle inside .../config/stackablecushions.json:

  • allowFloatingCushions (Default: false): Keeps floating cushions alive indefinitely, or lets them pop with natural timing when left unsupported in mid-air.
  • dropStackedWhenBaseDestroyed (Default: false): Triggers a chain reaction that breaks all cushions stacked above when the bottom cushion is removed.
  • allowSidePlacementAgainstBlocks (Default: true): Enables attaching cushions to the side faces of blocks.
  • maxStackChainFromSingleCushion (Default: 10): Sets the maximum number of cushions you can stack upwards by repeatedly clicking the bottom cushion.
