About

Description

StackFlow

StackFlow is a client-side Forge mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 that makes chest and shulker storage faster, cleaner, and easier to manage.

It is built for players who want survival storage to feel practical and predictable without turning the inventory screen into a complicated overhaul.

What StackFlow does for you

  • Find items in chests and shulker boxes faster with built-in search
  • Sort storage in a way that feels more natural for real survival building and resource management
  • Dump matching items from your inventory into a chest in one action
  • Keep important items in place with slot locking
  • Move and organize items with lightweight in-container controls and hotkeys
  • Make storage actions feel more readable with clear previews, highlights, and chest-only feedback

Search

StackFlow adds a search bar to supported container screens.

You can use it to:

  • focus search quickly with F, Ctrl+F, or Cmd+F
  • leave search with Esc
  • quick-move matching search results with Enter
  • use * as a catch-all to move everything out of a chest

Search highlighting is focused on the chest itself, so results stay easy to scan without cluttering the rest of your inventory view.

Sorting

StackFlow supports two sorting modes:

  • GROUP
  • A/Z

GROUP mode is designed around practical survival storage logic instead of simply sorting everything by name.

That includes useful grouping for things like:

  • wood families
  • stone and deepslate building sets
  • armor and wearable utility gear
  • bamboo, copper, quartz, sandstone, and end stone building chains
  • potion families
  • enchanted variants, with stronger enchantments sorting above weaker ones

Dump and locking

StackFlow includes a dedicated dump workflow for moving matching inventory items into a chest.

  • D dumps matching items from your main inventory into the chest
  • Shift + D includes the hotbar
  • locked slots are respected by dump and sort actions
  • both chest slots and player inventory slots can be locked with Alt + click

This makes it easier to keep tools, emergency items, or carefully arranged chest slots exactly where you want them.

Controls

Default controls include:

  • S to sort
  • C to cycle sort mode
  • D to dump matching items into the chest
  • Shift + D to dump matching items including the hotbar
  • Ctrl + click / Cmd + click to move all of the same hovered item
  • Alt + click to toggle slot locking
  • Enter to quick-move current search matches

All chest-side hotkeys can be changed in Minecraft’s controls menu.

Current Beta Focus

This beta is mainly focused on:

  • grouped sorting quality
  • chest-side move behavior
  • slot locking and inventory protection
  • search polish
  • practical survival storage flow

Current supported target:

  • Minecraft Forge 1.20.1

A later compatibility pass for 1.20.2 to 1.20.4 is planned after the 1.20.1 beta settles.
