Starfield Pastoral Fishing

A fishing-ease addon for Starfield Pastoral that makes fishing faster, more generous, and (optionally) almost entirely hands-off - all tuned through an in-game config screen.

[WARNING] Please remember that this mod is still under development. It may cause issues, lag the game, or not work as intended. Please report any bugs so I can improve it!

What it does

  • Speeds up how fast you get a bite, up to fish biting the instant your bobber lands
  • Can force every catch to a specific quality, land more than one fish per catch, and set treasure-chest odds to whatever you like
  • Can skip the reeling minigame entirely, and keep your bait and tackle topped up automatically
  • Adds an auto-cast key that keeps fishing for you until you turn it off
  • Can optionally make fishing cost no energy at all

Configuration

Open Mods → Starfield Pastoral Fishing → Config in-game (or edit starfieldpastoralfishing-common.toml in your config folder directly). Settings are grouped into:

  • General – master switch, bite speed (instant, or a multiplier with a floor), and whether casting costs energy
  • Automation – auto-collect catch (skip the minigame), and the cast distance used by the auto-cast key (set the key itself in Controls > Key Binds)
  • Fish – forced catch quality and how many fish you land per catch
  • Treasure – override the treasure chest chance with a flat percentage
  • Bait – keep your bait slot topped up automatically, and with what
  • Tackle – same idea for your rod's tackle/bobber slot
  • Debug – an optional change log for verifying the config is doing what you expect

Known issues

  • The auto-cast key doesn't play full casting animation - the rod visibly moves in your hand, but not the complete cast motion you'd see from a real right-click
