Step up your vanilla experience with this mod that adds a balanced Stepping enchantment that allows you to walk up entire blocks.

🚀 Latest Updates

Version 1.21.7 introduces multiple levels for the Stepping enchantment and expands mod loader compatibility!

The latest version of Step now features two levels of the enchantment. Stepping I allows you to walk up one full block, while Stepping II lets you ascend a block and a slab (1.5 blocks). This update also brings widespread compatibility, with support for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, and Quilt.

💡 What is Step?

The Stepping enchantment can be obtained similarly to Depth Strider, via an Enchantment Table. It is a treasure enchantment that can be found at around level 20+, on diamond boots for reference. This balanced enchantment allows you to walk up blocks without needing to jump, seamlessly integrating into your vanilla gameplay.

A new feature in version 1.21.7 is the introduction of multiple enchantment levels. Older versions only included a single level.

  • Stepping I: Allows you to walk up a single full block.
  • Stepping II: Allows you to walk up the height of one block and a slab (1.5 blocks).

👪 Related Mods

This mod is part of a series of movement-focused enchantment mods. While they are not required to use Step, they were designed to complement each other. Please note that Leap may not be applicable to the same boots as Step. However, Frost Walker and Depth Strider are fully compatible with Step.

  • Dash - Adds a new boot enchantment that allows you to dash around.
  • Leap - Take a leap forward with this simple mod that adds a new enchantment for double-jumping.
