Description

Structural Decay

Explosions no longer leave surviving blocks untouched.
Structural Decay adds realistic structural degradation to Minecraft by making blocks damaged by explosions transform into weakened or broken variants instead of remaining pristine.

Turn every blast into a lasting scar on the world.

Features

Material-Based Blast Degradation

Blocks that survive explosions may degrade depending on their material:

  • Stone Bricks → Cracked Stone Bricks
  • Stone → Cobblestone
  • Sandstone → Sand
  • Concrete → Concrete Powder
  • And more...

Supports All Explosion Sources

Works with:

  • TNT
  • Creepers
  • Ghasts
  • End Crystals
  • Beds / Respawn Anchors
  • Wither Explosions
  • Most modded explosions

Vanilla-Friendly Design

Designed to feel like a natural extension of Minecraft:

  • Uses existing vanilla block variants whenever possible
  • Balanced degradation probabilities based on blast proximity
  • Maintains immersion without feeling overly punishing

Mod Compatibility

Includes tag-based compatibility support for modded blocks.

Other mods and datapacks can define custom degradation behavior through tags/configuration.

Why Use Structural Decay?

Structural Decay makes explosions more immersive, strategic, and visually impactful by leaving behind damaged terrain and scarred structures rather than simple destruction.

Perfect for:

  • Survival gameplay
  • Immersive worlds
  • Builders creating ruins / battle damage
  • Combat-focused modpacks
  • Realism / vanilla+ experiences

Configuration

Fully configurable:

  • Enable/disable specific degradation categories
  • Adjust degradation chance
  • Blacklist/whitelist blocks
  • Customize compatibility mappings
