Description

Summoners

A Minecraft mod that turns ordinary mobs into mini-bosses that summon reinforcements.

What is Summoners?

When a zombie, skeleton, spider, or pillager spawns in your world, there's a small chance it'll become a Summoner. This mob looks the same at first, but once you start fighting, it calls in backup—mobs of the same type that swarm you from nearby. Each fight turns into a frantic crowd-control puzzle.

The mod is built to be fully configurable. You decide the spawn chance, how many minions a Summoner can summon, what gear minions wear, and which mobs are allowed to be Summoners. You can even tweak stat multipliers for both Summoners and their minions.

Features

  • Random Summoners – Every hostile mob has a configurable chance to spawn as a Summoner (default: 5%).
  • Dynamic Reinforcements – During a fight, the Summoner spawns minions of its own type. Zombies summon zombies, skeletons summon skeletons, etc.
  • Per‑mob Customization – Change the weight (probability) for each mob type. Zombies can be more likely to be Summoners than spiders.
  • Summoner Gear & Effects – Summoners can wear armor, hold items, or carry potion effects that make them tougher.
  • Minion Tweaks – Control minion health, damage, speed, equipment, and even potion effects they spawn with.
  • Dimension Filtering – Choose which dimensions Summoners can appear in (whitelist or blacklist mode).
  • Night & Weather Conditions – Optionally restrict summoning to nighttime or rain.
  • Exempt Mobs – Creepers, endermen, shulkers, and other explosive or flying mobs are excluded by default. You can change this list.

How It Works

When a mob spawns, the mod rolls the dice. If the roll hits the summonerChance threshold, that mob becomes a Summoner. It gains particle effects and starts a short cooldown.

As soon as the Summoner has a target (usually a player), it begins spawning minions at intervals. Minions appear near the Summoner.

Configuration

The mod is designed to be tweaked without touching code. After first game start with the mod being installed, open the config/SummonersMod.yaml file. You'll find options for:

  • Global summoner chance and cooldown
  • Maximum minion count and spawn range
  • Stat multipliers for Summoners and minions (health, damage, speed, armor)
  • Equipment and potion effects for both Summoners and minions
  • Per‑mob‑type weights, exempt lists, dimension restrictions, and weather conditions

Each option has a clear comment explaining what it does. Default values are balanced for vanilla survival, but you can make Summoners rare and deadly or common and weak.

Modpack Permission:

Feel free to use it in any modpacks.
