About

Description

Growing a village is mostly the dull half: flattening ground, hauling materials, building the same cottage by hand for the twentieth time.

SY Village does not build your village for you. It gives you the three things you could not do yourself, and leaves the rest — including where the lanterns go — to you.

Draw a building and put it where you want it

Buy a blueprint from an architect, pin it to their table, and the building is laid out beside it: a white box for the room it needs, a coloured border for what it will stand on, and a translucent silhouette of the building itself.

Type an offset, turn it a quarter, walk around it and look from the other side. There is no timer. Go and mine the tree that is in the way and come back; it is still there, and it turns green when the tree is gone.

Then press Build, and it goes up, layer by layer.

Every village building Minecraft has — 168 houses, farms, workshops and town centres across five biomes — plus a wall, a gatehouse and a watchtower of this mod's own, which take the materials of wherever you put them down.

It refuses the way a bed refuses: if something is in the way, it will not go, and it shows you every block that is. It does not level your ground, fell your trees or overwrite your walls. It also does not ask what you are standing on — half a house over a cliff edge is your business.

Found the next village

The village head sells a blank map, a bell — which you cannot craft, and otherwise have to steal from somebody else's village — and a Freeman's Charter: a villager on paper, dressed for the biome you set them down in. Pricey, and only a couple: population is still something you wait for.

Keep a golem

The guardian statue raises one iron golem and remembers it by name. Not a count — a name, so it raises another only when that one is actually gone. Sold by an architect at mastery.

It runs on vanilla, not on numbers

Professions come from workstations. Breeding comes from beds and food. Death comes from mobs. None of it is simulated here.

What an architect will draw for you is their trade level, which is Minecraft's own ratchet. And they only draw the buildings of the biome they are standing in — a desert village's architect sells desert houses, so a taiga house is a reason to go and find a taiga village. Two architects offer different buildings, which is a reason to keep more than one.

The mod keeps no saved data at all. No settlement registry, no claims, no world file of its own. A table remembers what is pinned to it, the way a furnace remembers what is burning, and breaking it ends that.
