Description

Tensura: ReRebirth

ReRebirth is a rebirth and prestige system for Tensura: Reincarnated.

Reached the end of your evolution line? Be reborn.

Reset your progression and return stronger with expanded starting skill pools, new race options, skill locking, permanent rewards, and increasingly difficult requirements that stack with every rebirth.

Made for the Tensura Restricted modpack, but fully usable as a standalone addition to any Tensura modpack.

How Rebirth Works

Once you meet the requirements, use /rebirth to open the rebirth screen and view everything you still need to complete.

When you are ready, use /rebirth confirm.

Your Tensura progression is reset according to the server configuration. Servers may reset everything, race only, skills only, or nothing.

Your rebirth level then increases by one, unlocking stronger rewards and introducing more difficult requirements for your next rebirth.

Rebirths can also synchronize with Tensura’s built-in reset counter through the syncResetCounter option, which is enabled by default.

Systems that depend on that counter, such as Gacha Start’s per-reset bonuses, will treat every rebirth as a proper Tensura reset.

Players who rebirthed before this feature was added will have their reset counter corrected automatically when they join.

Requirements

Scaling EP Requirements

Each rebirth can require a higher amount of Existence Points.

The requirement follows a configurable curve using a base EP value, a multiplier per rebirth, and a flat additional amount per rebirth.

This allows servers to create anything from a gentle progression curve to an extremely demanding endgame prestige system.

Per-Level Boss Requirements

Boss requirements are configured separately for each rebirth level.

Every level automatically includes all bosses required by the levels below it.

For example, if level one requires Boss A and level two adds Boss B, the player must defeat both Boss A and Boss B for their second rebirth.

Boss kills are tracked separately for each player and progress resets after rebirth.

Existing configurations migrate automatically.

The next rebirth displays the complete boss checklist, while later rebirth previews only display the bosses added at those levels.

Only kills performed directly by the player, or using the player’s own projectile, count toward boss requirements.

Kills performed by subordinates, tamed creatures, pets, or summoned entities do not count.

Awakening Requirements

Servers can optionally require Demon Lord Seed, True Demon Lord, Hero Egg, True Hero, or either True Demon Lord or True Hero.

Echoes — Your Past Life Returns

When you rebirth, your previous life is preserved as an Echo.

An Echo is a hostile, towering copy of your former self. It uses your skin, carries your name, and casts skills from the life you left behind.

Echo health, damage, and size scale with the EP your previous life had.

Echoes can appear near their owner at configurable intervals and chances.

Echoes exist normally in the world, allowing any player to encounter and fight them.

Whoever lands the killing blow earns a coin bounty based on the Echo’s strength.

Coin bounties are configurable and require Tensura Restricted.

Echoes grant no EP and drop no skills. The bounty is their only reward.

Starting from your second rebirth, defeating your own Echo can be required before you are allowed to rebirth again.

This requirement is enabled by default but can be disabled.

Use /rebirth echo to summon your pending Echo and face your past life on your own terms.

Manual Echo summoning can also be disabled by the server.

Rebirth Rewards

Bigger Starting Skill Pools

The skills available during reincarnation are gated by rebirth level.

Fresh players begin with the level-zero pool. Each rebirth can unlock additional skills for future starting rolls.

Per-level pools are cumulative, meaning each level includes everything unlocked by the levels below it.

Skill pools support content from Tensura and installed Tensura addons.

Bigger Race Pools

Race options unlock using the same per-level system.

Race pools support races and evolution stages from Tensura: Reincarnated, installed Tensura addons, and custom server configurations.

Every new rebirth can expand the range of available reincarnation choices.

Skill Locking

At a configurable rebirth level, players can begin locking skills so they survive the reset.

Each locked skill replaces one random starting skill roll. This allows players to preserve part of their build without receiving free additional skills.

Servers can configure the rebirth level at which locking becomes available, the number of starting lock slots, how often additional slots unlock, the maximum number of lock slots, and which skill types may be locked.

By default, only Unique Skills are lockable.

Slot calculations also account for slots granted by Tensura’s resetPerSkillLock gamerule, ensuring the player’s total always matches the configured progression curve.

Skill locking works with the standard Tensura starting roll and Tensura Gacha Start.

Players can manage their locks through the rebirth screen or with the following commands:

/rebirth lock

/rebirth unlock

/rebirth locks

Permanent Rebirth Rewards

Commands can run whenever a player completes a rebirth.

Servers can configure default rewards and override them at specific rebirth levels to create hand-crafted milestones.

Rewards can include items, currency, permissions, titles, effects, custom command rewards, and modpack-specific unlocks.

The Rebirth GUI

ReRebirth adds a star tab to the Tensura status menu and replaces the normal reset-counter medal.

The rebirth screen contains your requirement checklist with live progress, your current skill pool, your current race pool, and your required boss list.

When screen space is limited, Skill Locks can appear as a fifth Locks tab.

The interface previews what the next three rebirth levels unlock using proper icons and names instead of raw registry IDs.

Long requirement lists are arranged across two columns and become scrollable when necessary.

The Skill Pool, Race Pool, and Bosses tabs also use two-column layouts to make better use of the available screen.

Search and Sorting

Skill Pool and Race Pool entries are sorted alphabetically within each level.

Entries remain in fixed positions while scrolling instead of jumping between columns.

The Skill Pool, Race Pool, and Bosses tabs include search bars that filter entries by display name or registry ID.

Skill Locks Panel

The rebirth screen includes a dedicated Skill Locks side panel.

Click a skill to lock it. Click a locked skill to free the slot again.

Locked skills display their proper icons and names, and available and used slots are shown directly in the interface.

The window automatically shifts left when additional room is needed.

When the screen cannot fit both the main window and side panel, the locks are moved into a fifth tab inside the main interface.

This keeps skill locking accessible on large GUI scales, small game windows, and interfaces modified by other mods.

Staff members also receive a gear button that opens the skill-locking configuration editor.

In-Game Configuration Editor

Almost nothing needs to be configured manually.

Operators can use /rebirth edit to open the in-game editor.

The editor includes difficulty curves with live previews, per-level boss requirements, awakening requirements, skill and race pool gates, per-level skill pools, per-level race pools, skill-locking rules, and allowed lockable skill types.

The Bosses editor uses the same level browser as the Skill Pool and Race Pool editors.

Staff can move between levels using the arrows, add levels with + Level, and remove levels with × Level.

Adding pool entries opens a content browser containing entries from every installed mod.

The browser includes search, category filters, skill-type filters, and race-stage filters.

Skill filters include categories such as Common, Unique, and Ultimate.

Race filters include starter races, middle evolutions, and maximum evolutions.

The browser remembers your last selected category, so opening another picker does not reset the filter to All.

Changes save directly to config/trrebirth/prestige.json.

Use /rebirth reload to apply hand-edited configuration changes without restarting the server.

Saving through the editor or running /rebirth reload refreshes the data for every online player, preventing already-open reincarnation screens from displaying outdated pools.

Reloading also rewrites prestige.json, automatically adding newly introduced configuration options after mod updates.

Staff Commands

/rebirth complete <player>

Forces a player through their next rebirth, skipping all requirements and the coin fee while still running the full normal rebirth process.

The process still includes skill locking, Echo snapshot creation, progression reset, rebirth rewards, and server announcements.

/rebirth clear <player> echo

Marks the player’s Echo requirement as completed.

/rebirth clear <player> bosses

Marks all of the player’s required bosses as slain.

/rebirth clear <player> all

Marks all stuck rebirth requirements as completed.

/rebirth clear <player> boss <id>

Marks one required boss as slain.

Tab completion displays only the bosses that the selected player still needs.

Custom Branding

The entire system can be renamed using the brandName configuration option.

Every interface title, chat prefix, and broadcast will use the selected name.

You can call the system Rebirth, Prestige, Ascension, Awakening, or anything else that fits your server.

Performance

ReRebirth is built with multiplayer servers in mind.

Configuration reads avoid unnecessary locking.

Boss progress, skill pools, and race pool lookups are cached.

GUI lists are not rebuilt every frame.

Registry-backed content browsers scan installed content only once per session.

Pool information is synchronized from the server.

Server-synchronized data ensures dedicated-server clients always see the same race, skill, and boss pools that the server actually uses.

Integrations

All integrations are optional.

Tensura Restricted

When Tensura Restricted is installed, rebirths can require Restricted Coins, reward Restricted Coins, and provide configurable Echo bounties.

Every rebirth level can also add a permanent quest coin bonus.

The quest coin integration reports its status in the server log during startup, including whether it is active, inactive, or unable to load.

Without Tensura Restricted, coin-related features disable themselves automatically.

TensuraMoreUtils

Skills banned through TensuraMoreUtils will not appear in rebirth skill pools or reincarnation starting rolls.

Tensura Gacha Start

Locked skills work with Gacha Start’s reincarnation rolls.

Because rebirths can synchronize with Tensura’s reset counter, Gacha Start’s per-reset bonuses can also recognize each rebirth correctly.
