Description
PA9 Texture Builder
Automatic block variation while you build — no hotbar cycling required.
Tired of stopping mid-build to swap hotbar slots just to keep your stone bricks looking natural? Texture Builder silently swaps your active slot right before each placement and leaves it selected, so you can always see which block you just placed. You place blocks exactly like normal; the variation just happens.
Two modes, switched with one button in the config screen:
- Texture mode — a weighted random mix: 70% Stone Bricks, 20% Mossy, 10% Cracked, whatever blend you want.
- Gradient mode — pick a start and an end point, and your build fades from one block into the next based on where each block goes. Fade along a single axis, diagonally across a floor or wall, or through all three dimensions.
Texture Mode
- Weighted random placement — Set a weight (0–100) per hotbar slot and Texture Builder normalizes them proportionally, so you get a natural, controllable mix instead of a rigid cycle. A Reset button puts every weight back to the default.
- Live "Eff. %" feedback — The config screen shows each slot's real resulting share as you adjust sliders, so you always know exactly what you're building with.

Gradient Mode
- Two clicks to set up — Bind Set Gradient Point, look at a block and press it to set the start, then the end; a third press clears both. Points are saved with their dimension and survive restarts.
- 1D, 2D or 3D — 1D fades along the axis your points are farthest apart on. 2D fades diagonally across a floor or wall — set opposite corners for a corner-to-corner fade. 3D fades diagonally through all three axes.
- Choose and order your blocks — Turn on the hotbar slots you want; they run from start to end in hotbar order, left to right. Use 2 to 9 blocks.
- Drag-to-shape distribution — One multi-handle slider labelled with your block names sets how much of the line each block owns, with a matching Eff. % column and a Reset button to even them out.
- Adjustable Transition — 0% gives crisp, hard bands; 100% blends each block fully into the next, with a randomized fade zone around every boundary.
- Clear feedback — A green confirmation tells you which way the gradient runs ("runs across X and Z (2D)"). If something's off — no points set, points in another dimension, or two equally long axes — placement pauses with a warning explaining exactly what to fix, instead of placing the wrong block. Chests, doors and buttons still open normally.

Everything Else
- Zero-interruption swapping — Each placement switches to the chosen slot just before the block goes down, sending the exact packets a manual player would — no custom payloads, works in single-player and on vanilla servers. Prefer your selection to snap back afterwards? Set
restore_slot_after_placement = truein the config. - Auto-restock via Pick Block — When a slot runs dry, Texture Builder fires your Pick Block keybind aimed at the block you just placed to restock it — instant in creative, pulled from your inventory in survival. Pairs with PA9 ShulkerPickBlock to restock straight out of a shulker. Works in both modes.
- In-game or command config — Adjust everything from the TB button in the survival or creative inventory,
/texturebuilder config, or Mod Menu — no restarts needed./texturebuilder statusshows your current mode, gradient points and settings. - Session-safe toggle — A brief green "ON" / red "OFF" message confirms the state and the active mode (e.g. "Texture Builder: ON (Gradient)"); nothing turns on unless you flip it (or set
enabled = truein the config). - Client-side only — Install it on your client; servers don't need it.
