The Ethereal Forest

BIG ANNOUNCMENT

This mod, along with any other mods I've made in the past, are no longer being worked on. This is cause either Mcreator's workspace has broken, and wont let me edit them, or im not happy with the mods. Don't worry! New mods are in the progress of being created (Though with much higher quality, and for 1.16.5 as that's the version that Mcreator has the most feature support for) Thank you for being patient.

Note

This mod is still in development, if you have any ideas for the Ethereal Forest, let me know in the comments below, but it cant contain mobs that would need custom models, as mcreator hates me trying to import anything but block models.

About

The Ethereal Forest is a seemingly infinite forest, where trees grow to extreme heights and the mobs are twice as dangerous. The dimension is in eternal darkness with the only light sources being the flora scattered both high and low.

How to get to the Ethereal Forest?

For one to get to the dimension they must find an overworld version of the Ethereal Forest with trees that are much, much shorter than their dimensional counterparts, and build a portal out of the new stone found there, and then activate it using a staff made from a gem found in the biome.

What can you expect to find there? 

Biomes

In this dimension are 5 new biomes to find, each unique in their own way, lets quickly go over each one.

Ethereal Forest

This biome is pretty standard, well by this dimensions standards anyway. Tall trees able to reach around 62 blocks can be found here, as well as smaller ones for you to chop down. Ethereal Spiders and Creepers spawn here so be wary.

Lonely Clearing

These places are devoid of all but very small trees, and no mobs will spawn in these areas, making them great spots for bases.

Burnt Ethereal Forest

Its unknown what happened to these places, except for the fact that all plant life placed here eventually starts glowing orange, an will remain that way until remove from the biome. The trees here dont drop wood but instead drop Ethereal Charcoal. Be careful though, as Burnt Ethereal Creepers spawn here.

Ethereal Jungle

A biome similar to the regular Ethereal Forest except for the fact the leaves are of a dark pink instead of green, and the wood is unique to this biome, and all the trees have vines. Fungal Flowers can be found here which look very beautiful.

Ethereal Swamp

The only place where food can be found, the Ethereal Swamp is a welcome sight, with glowing berries that grow in vines high up in the trees. The trees here can also grow in the water, which is unique to this biome.

Ethereal Darkness

These biomes are areas of the Forest where no plants glow, meaning the area is entirely dark, with the only bits of light coming from the plants that grow on the border with this biome.

Luminous Grove

The forest floor is littered with giant glowing mushrooms, meaning the biome is highly illuminated, making this one of the safest places outside of a clearing.

Ethereal Flower Forest

A biome of tall, indigo flowers, this place is also fairly well lit, but not as much as the Luminous Grove. The stems of the flowers here are strong enough to be used as an alternative wood source .

Building Blocks

Ethereal Wood

Ethereal wood is a deep purple colour, and acts as the the oak wood of the Ethereal Forest, found in most biomes and easy to obtain. Everything that you can craft with vanilla wood, you can craft with Ethereal wood (except boats, doors and trapdoors)

Ethereal Jungle Wood

Same as above, but slightly redder and found only in Ethereal Jungles.

Ethereal Swamp Wood

Found in Ethereal Swamps, turquoise in colour

Ethereal Fibre Wood

Created using the stems of tall flowers from the Ethereal Flower Forests, green in colour

Ethereal Stone and Cobblestone

Ethereal Stone is the most common block found in this dimension, as it makes up the entire underground, it is a dark greyish purple coloured block, that when mined will drop the Ethereal equivalent of Cobblestone. Ethereal Cobblestone can be used as a replacement for Cobblestone in every recipe and is used to make the portal to the Ethereal Forest Dimension, while Ethereal Stone cant be used as a replacment in recipes at the moment, but it will be added in at a later date (provided Mcreator doesnt stop working)

Armour and Tool Sets

Athereal

Athereal Ore is the only ore to generate outisde of the Ethereal Forest, as it is required to get here. Athereal armour and tools are stronger and more durable than diamond, but can only be obtained from the overworld Ethereal Forest biome, or the dimension itself and can only be mined with a diamond pickaxe, making this an endgame resource.

Unique Tools

Ethereal Staff

The Ethereal Staff is the key to activating the Ethereal Portal. Once you've built a portal frame out of Ethereal Cobblestone, (which can be gathered in the Overworld via the Ethereal Forest Biome) simply right click using the staff and the portal will open. To craft the staff simply place an Ethereal Staff Crystal atop two sticks (as if you are making a shovel) and you will have a staff. To make the staff crystal you need 4 Athereal Gems, and place them in the crafting grid as if you are making a crafting table.

Structures

Treehouse

Found in regular Ethereal Forests, Luminous Groves and the Ethereal Flower Forests, these structures are rare and found only in the upper most parts of trees. To reach them, one must first stack upwards until they reach the first platform flower, from there they can either parkour, and risk death via falling, or place blocks to connect the flowers together and form a sort of staircase. (the loot inside these structures is temporary, leave suggestions in the comments below ; I cant use custom loot tales due to mcreator limitations, which means for randomized loot I'd have to use vanilla loot tables)
