Description
The Flood
The Flood transforms Minecraft's hostile mob spawning into a progression-based survival system where the world becomes increasingly dangerous the longer you survive.
Instead of relying on Minecraft's normal spawning mechanics, The Flood uses its own spawning system built around Heat. As your Heat rises, new enemies unlock, existing enemies become stronger, and larger populations begin appearing around you.
What to Expect
- Heat-Based Progression — Difficulty progresses alongside the player rather than simply relying on world age.
- Dynamic Mob Scaling — Enemies gain health and damage as Heat increases, with new mob types joining the spawn pool over time.
- Custom Spawning — Hostile spawning is completely reworked, with configurable populations, spawn distances, lighting rules, underground spawning, and more.
- Mini-Hordes — Groups of enemies can periodically descend on players as the world becomes more dangerous.
- Blood Moons — Prepare for nights of continuous waves and significantly increased hostile activity.
- Multiplayer Scaling — Teams share progression, while nearby players can increase the danger through Proximity Heat.
- Team System — Create teams, track teammates through the HUD, use team chat, and coordinate during increasingly dangerous nights.
- Highly Configurable — Nearly every major progression, spawning, horde, mob, and difficulty setting can be customized by server owners.
- Built-In Guide — The in-game guide explains The Flood's mechanics and displays the server's current settings, including anything changed from the defaults.
The Goal
The Flood is designed to make survival feel like a race.
Building a secure base matters. Preparing for the night matters. Progressing your equipment matters. And as you become stronger, The Flood grows with you.
How long can you stay ahead of it?
Current Status: Playtest
The mod is actively being balanced. Feedback on difficulty, progression, mob populations, hordes, Blood Moons, and multiplayer scaling is especially appreciated.

Newly Updated: This section will be updated as the mod progresses to show you everything new being added to the releases at a glance! More detailed updated and information will be on the website.
Elites are here! Now mobs can randomly be selected to be elites. All elites have a unique behavior which changes the playstyle against each mob and a set of attributes that alter the fight randomly. As your heat level increases, the chance for harder elites to spawn grows. Beware, these elites can be intimidating foes but, they drop good loot for those who seek challenge!
