🌊 The Flood: Rising Waters
The Flood: Rising Waters turns your standard Minecraft survival world into a suspenseful race against an unstoppable global catastrophe.
Deep within the subterranean depths at bedrock level, ancient floodwaters begin to rise. Day by day, cavern systems and mineshafts are swallowed by the dark abyss before the ocean ultimately bursts through the surface, slowly drowning plains, forests, and valleys until only mountain summits remain as the final sanctuaries of civilization.
Will you build airtight underwater bases, seek refuge on high peaks, or drown in the abyss?
⚡ Key Features
- ⛏️ Starts in the Deep (-64 Y): The flood starts from the absolute bottom of the world. While you spend your first days developing on the surface, subterranean caverns, deep dark biomes, and mineshafts are already quietly drowning.
- 📈 Two-Phase Rising Speed:
- Underground (Y -64 to 63): Fast progression (~9 blocks/day) to bridge the depths in about 10–12 days.
- Surface (Y 63 to 110): Controlled, atmospheric rise (3–5 blocks/day, default 4 blocks/day) giving players time to adapt, build boats, and relocate.
- 🏔️ Final Sea Level (Y 110): The water stops rising at Y=110, leaving mountain plateaus and high hills as rocky island archipelagos for end-game survival.
- 🛡️ Airtight Bunker Protection: Sealed player-made structures (solid walls, glass viewports, closed doors and trapdoors) will not be flooded! You can engineer safe sub-aquatic bases deep below the surface and live beneath the waves.
- 🚀 Zero-Lag Architecture (Anti-Lag):
- Torches, tall grass, flowers, and snow layers are silently dissolved by rising waters without dropping thousands of laggy item entities.
- Multi-threaded chunk processing with a strict tick budget keeps your server running at a solid 20.0 TPS with no freezing.
- 🛏️ Natural Time Skipping: Sleeping in a bed honestly advances world time — water will rise proportionally to skipped hours. You cannot freeze the flood by sleeping!
- 🔧 Fully Configurable: Tweak start Y, max flood height, underground & surface speeds, grace period, and player radius via
serverconfig/the_flood-server.toml.
