About
Description
Poke Isles Cobblemon Sizes expands Cobblemon’s size system by giving wild and bred Pokémon distinct, persistent size variants.
Each Pokémon can be assigned one of six size tiers:
- Teacup
- Extra Small
- Small
- Normal
- Large
- Extra Large
A Pokémon’s assigned size is stored permanently, ensuring it retains the same scale after being caught, recalled, sent out, traded, evolved, stored, or transferred between compatible systems.
Teacup Pokémon
Teacup Pokémon are the rarest size variant and receive a special ability: they can ride on their owner’s shoulder.
The mod includes fallback shoulder rendering for Pokémon that do not normally have a dedicated shoulder pose, allowing a much wider range of Teacup species to accompany their trainer.
Only Pokémon assigned the Teacup size tier receive this expanded shoulder-mounting functionality.
Size Marks
Non-standard size variants receive a matching Cobblemon mark:
- Teacup Size Mark
- Extra Small Size Mark
- Small Size Mark
- Large Size Mark
- Extra Large Size Mark
These marks provide visible recognition of a Pokémon’s size and can grant titles such as:
- “the Teacup”
- “the Extra Small”
- “the Large”
- “the Extra Large”
- Normal-sized Pokémon do not receive a size mark.
Wild Pokémon
Wild Pokémon are automatically assigned a size when they spawn.
The default distribution makes Normal Pokémon the most common, while extreme sizes and Teacup Pokémon are considerably rarer. Every tier’s chance and scale range can be adjusted through the configuration file.
Breeding and Size Inheritance
Size variants can be inherited through breeding.
- If one parent has a non-standard size, the offspring inherits that size tier
- If both parents share the same non-standard size, the offspring inherits that tier
- If the parents have different non-standard sizes, the offspring randomly inherits one of them
- If neither parent has a non-standard size, the offspring receives a newly rolled size
The selected size can also be displayed in the lore of supported breeding eggs and baskets.
Configuration
The mod automatically creates:
config/pokeisles-pokemon-sizes.json
Server owners can configure:
- Whether the size system is enabled
- Whether breeding inheritance is enabled
- Whether eggs without parent data receive random sizes
- Whether size marks are enabled
- The chance of each size tier
- The minimum and maximum scale of each tier
- Height-based scaling for Teacup Pokémon
Administrator Commands
/pokemonsizes reload/pokemonsizes spawn <size> <pokemon properties>
The spawn command supports Cobblemon Pokémon properties, allowing administrators to create specific Pokémon with a selected size tier.
Compatibility
Includes optional integration with Poke Isles Breeding Enhancements, including size inheritance and breeding egg lore support.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- Java 21
- Fabric Loader 0.17.2 or newer
- Fabric API
- Cobblemon 1.7.3 or newer
The mod should be installed on both the server and client for complete size, mark, breeding, and shoulder-rendering functionality.
