Disclaimer
This mod is in it's infancy, and i still have work to do. I've created a roadmap that have a list of goals that i want to achieve with this mod.
Roadmap:
What does this mod do?
It's pretty self explantory, this mod adds rage infected from the 28 franchise, but it's leaning more to the infected in 28 Years Later.
Here are it's features:
Relentless Chasing
They will chase you for long periods of time. (Sometimes they don't still trying to tweak it.
Animal Targeting
This is meant to replicate how the infected act in Years, they'll attack any animal on sight, but if they see you, they'll ditch their food and come for you.
Increased Sight Range
They can spot you from longer distances.
Hordes
Sometimes you'll encounter a horde of infected, but it's meant to be rare, so the chances of bumping into one are low, but not impossible. This was an attempt to create suspense, when travelling through the wilderness.
Infected

These are your standard infected, that will chase on sight and runs almost as fast as you.
Emaciated Infected

These are incredibly malnourished infected. Their body is failing on them and they are unable to sprint, but their footsteps are quiet, which can help with stealth. Make sure to listen out for their raspy groans.

Context
The Rage Virus is a bloodborne virus, originally an inhibitor meant to cure rage, but when they tested the inhibitor on chimpanzees, it mutated and in turn did the complete opposite, it sent it's host into a violent rage.
Once an individual is infected, the incubation time will be 10 to 30 seconds, the virus will hijack the victims amygdala, the part of the brain responsible for emotions and the flight or fight response. The virus will basically switch on the flight or fight response and make sure it never shuts off and will subdue the pre frontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for planning, working memory and personality expression.
Once the virus takes control the victim will go into a violent rage and attack anyone that isn't infected. Since the virus was engineered with the Ebola virus, the infected will bleed from every orphus, and will ocassionally vomit blood, also the victims capillaries in their eyes burst, turning their iris blood red.
The virus is bloodborne, meaning it is transmitted through bodily fluids such as blood, or bites.
Basically these are not Zombies, they are infected people with a high stress level that kills or infects anyone on sight, but they still need food and water, hence why they starve to death in 28 Days Later.
After 28 years, the infection evolved. The Ebola virus symptoms were reduced, the infected became more chimpanzee-like, or acted more like people from the Stone Age. Some infected, mostly larger individuals with dense muscle mass would evolve to be more intelligent, faster, stronger, have the urge to reproduce and lead packs. These are called "Alphas." this mutation usually happens when the virus acts more like a steriod for the host, rather than a debilitating disease. There are infected called "Slow-Lows," they are bloated and obese infected, that crawl on the ground and eat worms for sustinence. They aren't that much of a physical threat but they can let out a ear piercing scream, that can lure other infected.
