About

The Root of Fear adds the Wilted, a monstrous relative of the Creaking that has fused with its heart and become independent of the Pale Garden, now roaming freely throughout the Overworld.

The Wilted draws power from darkness, which means that you, the Overworld's main source of light, are its prime target. It's also extremely unpredictable due to its complex AI, which includes behaviours that are randomised every time it spawns...

Good luck.

How to play

  • You will occasionally hear the Wilted at night 2 days before it comes.A dense fog will cover the Overworld on the day of its attack.
  • The Wilted will come at night, disguising itself. Try to hold it off for as long as possible.
  • Do not try to engage the Wilted in combat.
  • When the Wilted reveals itself, get to a safe, lit up area as quickly as possible.
  • Break the roots that cover your lights.
  • Survive the onslaught until day.
  • The Wilted will come first on the second night, it will come back between 2 and 10 days after its last attack.

Commands

  • /rootoffear spawnday get tells you which day the Wilted will spawn on
     
  • /rootoffear spawnday getrelative tells you how many days there are until the Wilted can spawn
     
  • /rootoffear spawnday set lets you set which day the Wilted will spawn on
     
  • /rootoffear spawnday setrelative lets you set how many days there are until the Wilted can spawn
     
  • /rootoffear assignedwilted get tells you which Wilted is connected to the dimension you're in
     
  • /rootoffear assignedwilted set lets you connect an existing Wilted to the dimension you're in
     
  • /rootoffear assignedwilted clear lets you disconnect the dimension you're in from its Wilted
     
  • /rootoffear ultimatetarget get tells you the ultimate target of the selected Wilted
     
  • /rootoffear ultimatetarget set lets you set the ultimate target of all selected Wilted
     
  • /rootoffear ultimatetarget clear lets you clear the ultimate target of all selected Wilted
     
  • /rootoffear setdisguised lets you set the disguised state of all selected Wilted
