About
Description
This mod was made with Claude Code, and is also meant to show the capability of AI these days.
The Silicon Age adds a computer industry to Minecraft. You make parts, build computers, and the computers mine Bits, a currency you spend on better technology.
Features
- A chip fab: make silicon wafers and run them through coating, exposure, etching, doping and more as you progress to make chips.
- 24 chip generations based on real history (or the predicted future), from 10 µm (1971) to 1.4 nm (2028). New machines unlock at real breakthroughs, like EUV lithography.
- Computers that mine Bits. You manage power, heat and memory.
- A Market to spend Bits on photomasks, blueprints and items.
- A Sales Office where companies buy your parts through contracts.
- Cleanrooms, server racks, solar panels, cables and an in-game handbook.
How it changes the game
It's a long tech progression. You start by hand-building a simple 4-bit computer, and each upgrade needs better chips, which need more machines and more steps to make. Your computers' earnings pay for the next step.
Compatibility
Optional support for Create (recipes and automation) and JEI. Uses FE, so any power mod works. Needs NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1.
Fun for anyone interested in computer hardware, or a grindy automation challenge. Meant to be played with other power and automation mods. Will be expanded.
