Description
Ever thought the vanilla combat system was annoying? Do you think both the current and old systems of PVP are both flawed? Do you want to use TNT to destroy your enemies in battle? If you answered yes to any of these questions, TNT's Combat is for you!
This is a small mod that improves a few aspects of the combat system - and adds a new TNT item that may come in handy... This was inspired partially, but not entirely, by the combat snapshots.
Features
- Removed the ability to attack before the cooldown ends
- Sweeping edge requires the enchantment to be used
- Weapons other than swords can use sweeping edge
- Added an Accuracy enchantment for bows and crossbows
- Added a Primed TNT item that ignites instantly
- Nerfed bed and end crystal explosions
- Increased the max stack size for potions to 16
Attack Cooldown
The vanilla cooldown system is very annoying, because if you accidentally click too early, it'll do significantly less damage and reset the timer back to 0. However, the old system was also flawed, becuase it just became a contest to see who can click the fastest.
TNT's Combat implements a simple change to this system, you're no longer able to attack before the cooldown runs out. This means you can spam click to your heart's desire without worrying about resetting the cooldown.
However, this does make combat harder by disabling the ability to attack early if you want to deal knockback or a small amount of damage. If you want to do this, you're better off using your first or an item like a stick, which doesn't have as long of a cooldown.
Please note that there's a bug that causes the attack animation to play even though you can't actually attack yet. I couldn't find a way to fix this.
Sweeping Edge
This mod changes sweeping edge in two ways. First, it requires the enchantment in order to use it. This makes sense from a balance perspective, but it also makes the game significantly less annoying if you want to hit one mob, but not every one around it. Second, it allows sweeping edge to be used on weapons other than swords, like axes.
Accuracy Enchantment
Vanilla Minecraft has a feature that makes bows and crossbows inaccurate. Instead of disabling this feature, TNT's Combat adds a new enchantment called Accuracy. Each level will make your bow/crossbow 25% more accurate! Accuracy IV, the max level, negates it entirely. Currently, this enchantment can only be obtained through the echantment table.
Primed TNT Item

TNT's Combat adds a unique item called Primed TNT. Unlike regular TNT, this item ignites instantly, making it useful for combat. However, your enemy still has a few seconds to run away! You can craft this item with regular TNT and a fire charge.
Bed and End Crystal Explosions
Explosions from beds (in the nether and end) as well as end crystals have been nerfed, but not by enough to make them useless for combat.
Potion Stack Size
The maximum stack size for potions, as well as the water bottles used to craft them, has been increased to 16. This is an idea from the combat snapshots which not only has a practical use for combat, but also helps declutter your inventory if you want to, for example, bring a few potions of fire resistance to the nether.
Compatibility
This mod has a very high possibility of being incompatible with any mod that changes the combat system.
TNT's Combat has been tested with the following mods and is compatible with them:
Testing with Optifine resulted in a crash on startup.
