Totem of Mods: Alex's Mobs
Play Alex's Mobs on Minecraft 26.3.
Alex's Mobs has no 26.3 build. This mod doesn't make one: you install the author's original 1.20.1 Forge jar, and Totem of Mods runs it. Alex's Mobs loads in full, all of its animals, their AI and animations, its items, blocks, recipes and config files, and this little mod is only the two things around it.
What it does
- Tells you what's missing. Start without the Alex's Mobs jar and you get a screen on the title screen that says so, with a button to the download page for every dependency it still needs (Alex's Mobs itself and Citadel) and one that opens your
modsfolder. On a dedicated server the same thing goes to the console and to chat. - Puts its settings in
/tom. Alex's Mobs' own options get a page there, so you can change them in game instead of editing a file, plus one extra of its own: whether creepers avoid big cats.
It adds no items, no mobs and no world generation. Remove it and Alex's Mobs still runs, you just lose the warning screen and the settings page.
What you need
- Minecraft 26.3, Fabric Loader 0.19.5+, Java 25
- Totem of Mods 0.5.0+, and what it needs: Fabric API and CodxLib
- Alex's Mobs for 1.20.1 Forge and Citadel for 1.20.1 Forge, both dropped straight into
mods— the originals, unmodified. Fabric Loader ignores Forge jars; Totem picks them up.
How well does it work?
Alex's Mobs is the mod Totem was taken furthest on, and it is one of the few that load completely: its report has nothing in it. If something ever does go wrong, Totem writes what it could not do to totem/reports/alexsmobs.txt in your instance folder, in plain words, rather than hiding it.
Not affiliated with Alex's Mobs or its author. This mod ships none of its code or art, you install the original jar yourself.
