About

Description

TradeLedger

A personal directory of villager trades you have observed, with search, favorites, sorting, CSV export and navigation to last-seen locations.

Features

  • Records offers when you open a villager or wandering trader trade screen.
  • Search items, enchantments and levels, professions, dimensions, village labels and notes; filter purchase prices by maximum emerald cost.
  • Save favorite trades. Missing favorites remain searchable as historical observations.
  • Add personal village labels, villager labels and notes.
  • Navigate with a destination HUD showing the last observed coordinates and same-dimension distance.
  • Keep a manual trade wish list and separate ledgers per world, server and profile.
  • Sort filtered trades by favorites, cheapest observed emerald purchase price or newest observation.
  • Export filtered observations as UTF-8 CSV for offline planning. Historical status, timestamps and identity confidence travel with the trade.

Installation

Choose the file for your exact Minecraft version and loader:

Minecraft Loader Java
26.3 Fabric + Fabric API 25+
1.21.11 Fabric + Fabric API 21+
1.16.5 Fabric + Fabric API 17+
1.12.2 Forge 8
1.8.9 Forge 8

Install the matching loader and, for Fabric, Fabric API for that game version. Put only the matching TradeLedger runtime JAR in your mods folder. Install on the client; no server mod is required. The 1.16.5 port requires Java 17 even though vanilla can use older Java.

Open a trade screen to record offers, then press V to open TradeLedger. The key can be changed in Controls. Reopen a merchant screen to refresh its observation.

Observation limits

Every entry is cached and shows its age. Records become STALE after 24 hours, but newer observations may also have changed. Prices and stock describe the observation; current availability and restock times are unknown. Villagers may move after their location is recorded. Plugin-opened or ambiguous merchant screens can be recorded without identity or coordinates.

Minecraft 1.8.9 identity limit: its client protocol does not expose persistent villager UUIDs. This port keeps session-scoped merchant records with explicitly observed last-seen locations. Reconnecting can create separate records; existing favorites and labels cannot be automatically attached to merchants in the new session.

TradeLedger does not reroll villagers, change prices, automatically trade or bypass server rules. Check your server's client-mod policy. Older games retain their own trades and enchantments; this mod does not add newer Minecraft content.

Local data

Data is stored locally in config/tradeledger as JSON, separated by world/server and profile. Files contain trade details, names and coordinates; hashed filenames are not encryption. Use a new Profile when a server resets at the same address. Explicit edits save immediately; observations save within five seconds and during normal screen closure/disconnection/shutdown. Abrupt termination can lose recent observations. Backups are kept.

Forge builds use version-specific subfolders. CSV files are saved under the ledger's exports folder and include notes and coordinates; review them before sharing. Cross-version ledger migration is not supported. Keep the original files rather than copying component/NBT data between game generations.
