True Creeper

True Creeper was created to make creepers feel more dangerous, consistent, and challenging, as they should always have been.

After playing many mod packs, I realized that creepers often became easy and predictable enemies.

This mod modifies several creeper mechanics to make them more reliable threats, while maintaining the settings for different mod packs and balance styles.

What does the mod do?

True Creeper adds multiple configurable mechanics focused on improving creeper behavior and combat pressure.

⚙️ Configuration options

Block beneficial effects on creepers
Prevents creepers from receiving beneficial potion effects (Speed, Strength, Regeneration, etc.), avoiding infinite buff abuse with lingering explosions.

Natural charged creepers
Allows creepers to spawn naturally as charged creepers, with a configurable chance for increased danger in the world.

Disable creeper block damage
Makes creeper explosions stop breaking blocks, keeping your terrain and builds intact while still dealing damage to entities.

Disable creeper item damage
Prevents creeper explosions from destroying dropped items, protecting loot on the ground during fights.

Disable shields on creeper explosion
When a player blocks a creeper explosion with a shield, the shield is temporarily disabled, making timing and positioning more important.

Never cancel creeper detonation
Once a creeper starts detonating, it will not cancel the explosion, even if it loses sight of the player or moves away.

Fast creepers
Gives creepers a permanent, configurable movement speed bonus so they can close distance more aggressively.

Stronger creeper explosion damage
Multiplies creeper explosion damage with a configurable value, making them hit harder without changing vanilla health values.

Creepers ignore creeper explosion damage
Makes creepers immune to damage from other creeper explosions, preventing accidental chain-killing between them.

Each mechanic can be enabled or disabled in the configuration file, allowing mod pack creators and players to fine-tune the experience exactly as they wish.

What does the mod do?

True Creeper adds multiple configurable mechanics focused on improving creeper behavior and combat pressure.

In the settings, you'll find various options: creepers can avoid receiving beneficial effects from potions (to prevent players from abusing the infinite buff mechanic), spawn naturally as charged creepers, move faster, deal more explosion damage, disable shields when their explosion is blocked, continue detonating once they start, avoid damaging blocks or fallen objects, and ignore the damage from other creepers' explosions.

Each mechanic can be enabled or disabled in the configuration file, allowing mod pack creators and players to fine-tune the experience exactly as they wish.
