True Falling Stars

Shooting stars on clear nights. Most are quick and faint. Some nights turn into a proper shower, and once in a while you get a bolide - slow, very bright, breaking up as it goes and leaving a glow behind it.

Each one drags a trail that lingers and shrinks away behind it rather than sliding across the sky as a fixed streak.

Shower nights

About one night in five. Every star radiates from the same point and they all share a colour - and everyone on the server gets the same night, the same direction and the same colour without anything being synced.

Bolides

Slow, wide and bright, running two or three times as long as an ordinary star before breaking into fragments that burn out separately. Green ones are a coin flip, and a nod to the real thing.

Six colour families, weighted roughly the way real meteors run: mostly white-blue, then gold, teal, violet, emerald and rose. Bright ones shed sparkles as they go.

If you never see any

/starfall status tells you what is currently stopping them - how much night there is, how clear the weather is, whether tonight is a shower night. /starfall test forces them on in broad daylight for a minute, and /starfall star, bolide and shower fire them on demand.

Nothing appears in the Nether or the End.
