Description
🚇 Tunnel Tool —— One-Click Tunnel Excavation
Tunnel Tool is a Minecraft mod inspired by the MTR station-block interaction. Place a single Tunnel Tool block, set a start & end point, and excavate a perfectly rectangular tunnel with just one click — auto-lined with your chosen wall block, and auto-sealed at gaps, cliffs and underwater.
MineCraft 1.21.1 · NeoForge 21.1.x
✨ Features
- One block, full tunnel control — right-click the block, or hold it and left-click anywhere to open the control panel remotely.
- Set Start / End points by pointing your crosshair — supports sloped tunnels (different Y), straight along X/Z, and vertical shafts.
- Real-time preview — a thick yellow track band connects the block tops from Start to End (and follows your crosshair while holding the block, MTR style).
- Align hint — when your crosshair is on the same straight line as the start point, a green message appears: "The current aiming block is in line with the start, can be used as the tunnel end."
- Middle-click picker (format brush) — hold the Tunnel Tool and middle-click any block to instantly set it as the wall block, no GUI needed.
- Width & Height — 1–32 blocks; type a number or scroll the mouse wheel over the box.
- Auto-sealing — the tunnel is excavated as a fully closed rectangular shell; gaps, cliffs, air and underwater segments are automatically filled (underwater ends are sealed to keep water out).
- Dimension-wide shared config — all Tunnel Tool blocks in a dimension share the same start/end/size/wall settings, and the config persists in the world save.
- Never destroys itself — the Tunnel Tool block and bedrock are always protected.
/tunnel_reset— reset the shared tunnel config for all dimensions.
🛠 How to Use
- Place a Tunnel Tool block (Creative tab "Tunnel Tool", or
/give @p tunnelmod:tunnel_block). - Hold the block and left-click to open the panel (or right-click the block).
- Point at the start block → Set Start. Point at the end block → Set End.
- Set Width / Height, choose the Wall Block, then click Execute Dig.
- Done — the tunnel is excavated and lined instantly. Start/end are cleared after digging so you can set the next one.
Shortcuts (while holding the Tunnel Tool):
- Left-click → open control panel
- Middle-click → pick the targeted block as the wall block
- Scroll wheel (over width/height boxes) → adjust size
📦 Installation
- Install NeoForge 21.1.x for Minecraft 1.21.1.
- Put
tunnel-tool-1.1.0.jarinto.minecraft/mods. - Launch the game.
🔧 Compatibility
- Requires: Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1.x (client + server, works on servers & singleplayer).
- Pure client/server separation: GUI & preview are client-side; excavation, config and validation are all server-side.
❓ FAQ
Q: Set Start / End does nothing? A: Make sure your crosshair is actually aimed at a block (not sky/water). A hint is shown at the bottom of the panel.
Q: Why is the align hint not showing? A: It only appears when your crosshair block shares the same X or Z as the start point (in-line), and only while an end point is not yet set.
Q: Can I build underwater? A: Yes — water/lava is excavated and the tunnel is auto-sealed like a closed shell.
