Ultimine Shapes+
Add your own mining shapes to FTB Ultimine with JSON files. Ultimine Shapes+ is a Forge 1.20.1 addon that adds shapes to Ultimine's normal selector without changing FTB Ultimine itself.
Included shapes
- Flatten 3x3, 5x5, and 9x9: select a horizontal slice at the targeted block's Y-level, regardless of which face you click.
- Plane: configurable width and depth.
- Wall: configurable width and height along the X or Z axis.
- Box: configurable width, height, and depth.
- Column: configurable height, upward or downward.
- Custom offsets: choose exact relative block coordinates for your own patterns.
The three Flatten examples are installed automatically on first launch. Other shapes can be added with JSON.
Requirements and installation
Version 1.0.1 targets Minecraft 1.20.1 / Forge 47.4.0 and requires:
- FTB Ultimine (Forge) 2001.1.8 exactly
- FTB Library (Forge) 2001.2.1 or a compatible newer 2001.x version
- Architectury API (Forge) 9.2.14 or a compatible newer 9.x version
Install the addon and its dependencies on both the client and server. Replace older Ultimine Shapes+ JARs rather than installing two versions together.
Add a shape without rebuilding
Create a UTF-8 JSON file in:
config/ultimineshapes/shapes/
For example, save this as flatten_7x7.json:

Copy identical shape files to the server and every client, then fully restart them. Hold your normal Ultimine key and cycle through its usual shape selector. New names are generated automatically from display_name; no rebuild or manual resource-pack setup is needed.
A full restart is required. /reload does not reload shapes. FTB Ultimine 1.20.1 identifies shapes by list index, so mismatched client/server shape files can show incorrect selector names.
For exact patterns, use "type": "custom_offsets" and an offsets array such as [[0,0,0],[1,0,0],[-1,0,0],[0,0,1],[0,0,-1]]. Include the target [0,0,0]. Coordinates use world axes and do not rotate with the player.
Normal Ultimine rules still apply
FTB Ultimine handles durability, hunger, drops, permissions, and normal mining restrictions. Shapes use its selection checks and effective block limit. A full 9x9 plane needs at least 81 eligible blocks and an effective limit of 81 or more; a smaller limit intentionally selects fewer blocks.
Invalid JSON is skipped with a warning in logs/latest.log. Each shape ID must be unique. Dimensions are bounded, and generated shapes prioritize blocks nearest the target.
This is an independent addon, not an official FTB project. FTB Ultimine must be installed separately; its source code and JAR are not bundled.
