This Mod fixes the problem!

Underwater Torches is a lightweight Fabric mod that allows you to place all types of torches underwater. Torches will stay lit and continue to emit light even when submerged!

Features:

  • Place regular torchessoul torchesredstone torches, and all their wall variants underwater
  • Torches emit their normal light level even when waterlogged
  • Fully compatible with server and client – required on both sides 
  • Full Fabric 1.20.1 + 1.21.1 + 1.21.4 support

How it changes your experience:

  • Light up ocean monuments, underwater caves, and shipwrecks with regular torches
  • No more need for sea lanterns or glowstone just to see underwater
  • Build underwater bases with proper torch lighting, just like on land
  • Redstone torches work underwater too, enabling submerged redstone builds
