Generation:
Regions: the world is divided into geological regions that consist of similar rock types.
Orogens: these are areas that have more chaotic rock makeup. Some rocks can only be found in orogens.
Batholiths: Some igneous rocks can be found as massive structures rising from bedrock.
Secondary Layers: A secondary rock type overlaid upon the base rocks.
Strata: thin layers of a single rock type that cut through base rocks.
Tertiary Deposits: Uncommon large blobs of stone.
Regoliths: weathered versions of stone, generates underground as well as overground on hill/mountain/plateau biomes. There is a config option to always replace dirt with regolith.
*Nether gravel is replaced by pyroxene in Nether wastes and Soul sand valley(plus the nether gravel ores). Pyroxene behaves identically to gravel.
Features:
Regoliths
-Craft any 8 regolith blocks with another stone type to get regolith blocks for that stone type(reduce inv clutter)
-Dig out the stones out of regolith and get dirt by breaking grassy regolith blocks with a hoe
-Regolith grass can spread to nearby regoliths/dirt only if there is lichen on it.
Puddles
-puddles form near entities splashing into water. Dries up when exposed to the sky or high light levels. Lichen can spawn naturally near puddles.
-gamerule "doPuddleCreation" lets you disable puddle creation
Lichen
-Spawns infrequently on stone surfaces of hills and mountains. Use a shear to gather some.
-Dries up/gets wet depending on whether there is water/puddles nearby. Lichen can grow when it is wet, but it will stop growing if there is enough lichen around it.
-Stones that are covered by lichen can weather into their respective regoliths if covered on more than 5 sides.
Lignite
-Can be found in strata layers on any y level. Lignite blocks can be directly used as very poor furnace fuel
-Craft 8 lignite with clay to make lignite briquettes, which are better furnace fuel (and balanced)
Building Blocks
-Different block schemas exist for different stone types. Some stones have unique chiseled stone textures useful for decoration, check Images.
Configuration:
*The full configuration system is not implemented yet, here are some stuff you can adjust now
-The blocks Unearthed generation replaces is defined with tags, change the tags with datapacks to make some blocks you don't want to be replaced remain in world, or remove blocks you don't want by adding them.
#replaceable : gets replaced by stone types
#replace_dirt : can be replaced by regoliths
#replace_grass : can be replaced by regolith grass
-Regolith only appears in mountain/hilly/plateau biomes by default, but this is configurable to replace all dirt blocks to regoliths.
-You can enable debug mode in configs to take a closer look on Unearthed's generation. This will replace all primary stone into glass letting you see the various additional generation. A Resourcepack that replaces glass is recommended.
