Second Chance Feautres

minecraft has tens of mobs and hundreds of features, and there are many that are not only barely used, but only act as nuisances. sometimes, even entire systems act like that, being disconnected from other systems, or even as much as not worth the effort - and get ignored by players.

the most annoying thing is that these can be improved so much with so little... so by changing and adding some recipes, features, and items, this mod's purpose is to lightly overhaul them and their usefullness mainly by adding more utility.

Mobs

mobs that barely have any use such as Squids, Bats, Bears, Sniffers, recieved a few utility upgrades, to make these seemingly wasted potential mobs more interesting

Squid/Glow Squid

-squid life cycle: starts as baby (baby version) > develops into adult (regular version) > develops into elders (regular squids are 1.3x their adult size, and glow squids are 1.5x their adult size). when a squid develops into a new stage it has a chance to drop an inc/glow inc sac.

-breedable squids: you can now breed two squids with raw salmon/cod

-inc dispenser: dispensers with inc inside will shoot the inc sac, which would inflict blindness on any mob within a radius of 3 blocks

-inc cloud: when hitting a squid underwater, you get blindness, and glow/night vision when hitting a glow squid

-new enchantment: glow sense enchantable on helmet. when holding inc in the off hand and pressing R, blocks within a 32 blocks radius will glow

Phantom

-blindness arrows: craftable with 8 phantom membranes and an arrow

-fear of light/fleeing: phantoms will flee and get a chance to drop a membrane when confronted by light during nights

Bat

-guano: occasioanlly dropped from a bat; craftable into bonemeal and haunted soil

-pellet: has a small chance of dropping on death; can be eaten or brewed into potion of Perception (gives mobs within 32 blocks the glow effect)

-bat wing: has a small chance of dropping on death; can be brewed into potion of Echo (gives mobs within 64 blocks the glow effect + blindness)

-haunted soil: crafted from guano + phantom membrane; can fully grow crops at night and also nether warts

-tamed bats: you can now tame bats with fermented spider eyes; tamed bats will follow the player, and attack mobs the player attacks; if a tamed bat targets a mob nearby other bats, the bats will join the attack

Polar Bear

-breeding: you can now breed two adult bears. they will not attack the player for several minutes unless hit

-tamable: you can tame baby polar bears, which will grow into adult bears in about an in-game day. a tamed bear will attack mobs that attack or are attacked by the player. when grown into an adult, the player will be able to ride it (it's much faster in water). toggle shift + right click to make it stop moving and follow you

-dash attack: when riding a bear and holding > releasing space the bear will dash forward, dealing knockback and damage to mobs in front of and around it

Sniffers/Goats

-Sniffers can now dig up all of the vanilla seeds, ores, and everything in the archeology loot table

-the Pitcher Pod (one of the anicent vanilla plants) is now edible and will give haste/saturation

-Goats give "goat milk" when milked - gives a short regeneration

Features

just like mobs, some features and items are seemingly wasted potential. a few tweaks, and a few added features can very easily fix and upgrade some systems

-1 leather crafts into 4 rabbit scraps; you can now make leather armor out of rabit scraps, making the weakest armor in the game easier to get than iron

easier chainmail - craft a chain with 3 iron nuggets, and you can craft chainmail armor using chains

-added a scarecrow (craftable with a stick, a hay block ,and a cavred pumpkin), prevents crop trampling and adds a massive speed boost to crop growth. right click with pitcher pods to fuel it - makes it grow crops around it faster

-the phantom scarecrow will attract phantoms to it and away from the player; when applied with a mob's head, that mob will lose 50% detection range within a 20 block radius of the phantom scarecrow (crafted with a stick, a hey block, and a phantom membrane)

-spoiled veggies: spoiled beetroot that inflicts slowness + rotten carrot that inflicts blindness have been added; you can now compost them and poisonous potato for bone meal

-Phantom membrane: -will now be trimmable to armor. when applied, it will reduce mob range detection by 10% per piece -when applied to banners, will make the banner dissappear, only keepig the pattern's texture -when applied to item frames, will make the frame dissappear

-Glowing inc sac: -will now be trimmable to armor, making the trim pattern glow -when applied to banners, will make the pattern glow

Cauldron Upgrades: -lighting a fire/campfire under a cauldron with water:

-when applying food items it will cook "stew" after a few minutes

-when applying nether warts, you will be able to brew potions

-you can now dye the water, and use that to dye items like leather armor, banners, etc

-there are still bugs with this system, this is being worked on!
