About
Description
Minecraft is beatable in 20 minutes. This fixes that. If you know what you're doing, a vanilla playthrough goes: punch tree, get ender pearls, find stronghold, beat dragon, roll credits. 90% of the game's content is completely skippable. Vanilla Rebalanced doesn't add anything new — it just makes sure you actually play the game before you beat it.
What's changed
Eye of Ender
The portal recipe now requires ingredients from across the game world. You need a Blaze Rod from the Nether, a Breeze Rod from Trial Chambers, and an Echo Shard from an Ancient City — on top of the Ender Pearl. You're not finding the stronghold until you've earned it.
Elytra
Firework rockets no longer boost elytra flight. The elytra is a glider, not a jet. Plan your routes, use your environment, and maybe build that minecart network after all.
Warden
The Warden is now a proper boss — 100 HP, a boss bar visible within 64 blocks, and real drops on death: a sculk catalyst, 1–4 echo shards, and 1–3 diamonds. Fighting it is now a legitimate strategy, not just a last resort. Night Vision counters the Darkness effect, rewarding players who come prepared.
Totem of Undying
The totem still drops from Evokers. It still triggers on death. But instead of launching you back to full health, it curses you — Weakness II and Slowness III for 90 seconds. You survived, but now you have to live with it.
Villager Trading
The experimental Trade Rebalance datapack is enabled by default. Enchanted books are locked behind specific biome villagers — Mending requires a swamp librarian at expert level. Trades lock permanently on first use, so there's no resetting for better options. The economy is real now.
Minecarts
The Minecart Improvements datapack is enabled by default with max speed set to 20. With the elytra nerfed, rail networks are worth building again.
Mounts
Tamed and saddled horses, donkeys, mules, and camels no longer wander. The Happy Ghast moves 1.5× faster than vanilla when harnessed. Your mounts stay where you left them.
Philosophy Every change in this pack is a rebalance, not a replacement. No new items, no new mobs, no new structures. If it wasn't already in Minecraft it isn't here. The goal is a playthrough that feels like the game always should have — where the Nether, the Deep Dark, and Trial Chambers are necessary stops on a journey, not content you skip on the way to the end credits.
