Vaskars Opus

Factions, settlements and a war that runs on its own. Pick your people, earn reputation, swear oaths, take quests, and fight the rulers who started the war.

What the mod adds

  • Play as a human, elf, orc or dwarf. Your people sets your starting reputation, your home settlement and how others treat you. There is a figure editor for your own look.
  • 10 factions with their own NPCs, settlements and opinions of each other, in the Overworld, the Nether and the End.
  • A running war: warbands, patrols, caravans, bandits and adventurers travel the roads between settlements and fight where they meet.
  • Reputation with every faction (Hated to Exalted), oaths with permanent bonuses, and hired fighters.
  • 9 quest types, paid in copper, silver and gold.
  • 7 rulers with three-phase boss fights in their own fortresses.
  • Boss weapons and armour with active powers on a power bar.
  • Master Brann Sootbeard, a hidden smith who forges masterworks such as Aurum.
  • The great beasts of Vaskars Bestiary are part of the world: peoples pay bounties on them, and their lairs show up in your guide.
  • A heist: break into the Dwarf King's vault, quietly or by force.
  • Roads connect every settlement, with bridges and rest stops.
  • Vaskar's Guide: a book with a map of the places you have found, a bestiary, and the peoples.

  • Requires Vaskars Remains and Vaskars Bestiary. The great beast boss fights come from Vaskars Bestiary. Vaskar's Roads is built in.

  • Works with JEI, Jade, Create, Epic Fight, Better Combat, Frontier Cohorts, Xaero's Minimap and JourneyMap.
  • Creature stats and spawns can be changed in opus-mobs.toml.
  • This is an early version. Bug reports are very welcome.
