Vault Artificer - Vault Hunters Addon

Vault Artificer is an admin-focused utility mod for Vault Hunters 3rd Edition, *that lets you create and customize Vault gear, cards, decks, and deck cores directly in-game.

Instead of relying on commands or manually editing NBT, the mod gives you a dedicated Artificer Table with a simple interface for building exactly what you need.

This mod is intended primarily for server admins, map makers, pack developers, and testing.

🔨 The Gear Forge

The main feature of the mod is the Gear Forge.

Right-click the table to open the Artificer interface, where everything is split into four tabs:

• Gear
• Cores
• Decks
• Cards

The interface includes a live preview, so you can see what you're creating before actually giving it to a player.

The actual item is always created server-side, meaning the client only sends the recipe and the server handles the final item creation.

🎲 How Rolls Work

One of the main goals of Vault Artificer is to avoid simply generating completely arbitrary items behind the scenes.

For normal gear, the mod relies on the_vault's own configuration and roll systems for things such as:

• Base attributes
• Implicits
• Modifier tiers
• Modifier values
• Models
• Gear-specific properties

The Artificer mainly decides what you want to build. The game's own configuration decides how the normal rolls work.

There are also options that intentionally allow you to go beyond normal gameplay rolls when you need them. These are opt-in rather than enabled by default.

This makes the mod useful both for creating legitimate-looking test items and for creating deliberately custom admin items.

👀 Live Preview

The interface includes a live preview of the item you're currently building.

Changing a modifier, tier, flag or other property updates the preview so you can see the result before creating it.

When you finally create the item, the server rebuilds it from the same recipe.

What you see in the preview is therefore intended to match what gets created.

🔐 Permissions

The Artificer Table is deliberately restricted because it can create extremely powerful items.

If LuckPerms is installed, the mod checks the: vaultartificer.use permission node.

If LuckPerms isn't installed, the mod falls back to vanilla permission level 2.

The table itself can be placed normally, but actually opening and using it is restricted.

Basically, if you're an admin and need a very specific Vault item, the Artificer gives you a proper interface for making it instead of fighting with commands.

⚠️ Important

This is an admin tool, not a progression mod.

It intentionally gives the user access to item creation that would normally require playing through Vault Hunters and obtaining the relevant items naturally.

Use it responsibly on multiplayer servers, especially if regular players have access to the table or the permission node.
