⏳ Villager Restock HUD
Point at any villager and see exactly how long until their trades restock.
No more standing around guessing. No more breaking and replacing workstations because you are not sure whether the villager will restock at all. The countdown reads the villager's real restock state and shows it in the corner of your screen.
✨ Features
- ⏱️ Live countdown to the next restock, in minutes and seconds
- 📊 Progress bar that fills as the restock approaches
- 🧺 Stock meter per trade — one small bar for each offer, so you can see at a glance which ones are drained
- 👤 Profession and level of the villager you are pointing at
- 🚫 Clear warnings when a restock will never happen: no workstation, no profession, or a baby villager
- 🌐 Works on servers without the mod, in a clearly marked estimate mode
- 🌍 Translated into English, Spanish (Spain and Latin America) and Portuguese
- ⚙️ Full config screen through Mod Menu
- 🪶 Nothing is drawn unless you are actually looking at a villager
⚙️ How It Works
Villager restocking is not on a clock. It is driven by the villager's own state, and three rules decide it:
- A villager restocks at most twice per day
- There must be at least 2400 ticks (120 seconds) between one restock and the next
- The daily counter resets after 12000 ticks, or when the day changes
On top of that, the restock only fires while the villager is standing at its workstation during working hours — from tick 2000 to tick 9000 of the Minecraft day. Outside that window nothing happens, no matter how long you wait.
The HUD runs all of this and shows you the result:
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
Restock in 1m 14s |
Cooldown is running, the villager will restock when it reaches its workstation |
Restock imminent |
Everything is cleared, it just needs to touch the workstation |
Fully stocked |
Nothing has been bought, there is nothing to restock |
No workstation |
Without a job site block a villager never restocks |
No profession |
This villager has no trades and never will |
Because the game gives the villager a random check every 300 ticks, the countdown is an "available from" time rather than an exact stopwatch. It will never be late — the restock may just land a few seconds after zero.
🌐 Servers Without The Mod
The restock counters live only on the server and vanilla never sends them to the client. If the server does not have the mod, the HUD switches to estimate mode and works out what it can from what a vanilla server does send.
Estimated values are marked with a ~ and a blue accent, and the panel says estimate · server without the mod so you never mistake one for the other.
What is still exact
- Profession, level and baby villagers
- The stock of each trade, as of the last time you opened its trade menu — with the menu closed the stock cannot go down on its own
- How long until the working-hours window opens
What is estimated
- The countdown itself. The mod listens for the villager's work sound, which only plays when it is standing at its workstation, and pairs it with the stock it last saw. Once it catches a restock actually happening it locks onto the villager's real timer and the numbers line up from then on.
- Whether the villager has a workstation, when it has not been heard working yet
⚠️ Estimate mode can be wrong. It has to rebuild hidden state from the outside, it needs you to open a villager's trades once to lock on, and it assumes the server runs vanilla villager mechanics — plugins that change trading will throw it off. Treat it as a good guess, not as the real number.
With the mod on the server, none of this applies. Every value is read straight from the villager and the countdown is exact. If you run a server, installing it there is what this mod is really built for.
🎨 The HUD
A compact panel with a colour stripe on its edge that tells you the state before you even read the text:
- 🟢 Green — ready, or fully stocked
- 🟡 Amber — counting down
- 🔴 Red — it will never restock like this
- 🔵 Blue — estimated, server without the mod
It stays out of your way. If the panel would overlap the hotbar or your health and hunger bars, it moves itself up.
🔧 Configuration
Open it from Mod Menu:
- Corner of the screen and margins
- HUD size, from 50% to 200%
- Detection range, 3 to 64 blocks
- Refresh rate
- Toggle the progress bar, the profession line, the daily counter and the panel background
- Trade stock as bars, as numbers, or off
- Turn estimate mode off if you would rather see nothing than a guess
📦 Installation
Required:
- Minecraft 1.21.4, or 1.21.6 – 1.21.8
- Fabric Loader 0.16.10 or higher
- Fabric API
- Cloth Config
Recommended:
- Mod Menu — gives you the button to open the config screen
Drop the JAR into your mods folder along with the dependencies. Pick the file that matches your version: the plain build is for 1.21.4, the one marked 1.21.8 covers 1.21.6 through 1.21.8.
