About

Description

See and manage what villagers are hiding. Villagers have a hidden 8-slot inventory and four armor slots that vanilla never lets you touch. This mod opens them up in a clean GUI.

image

How to use

Sneak + right-click a villager or wandering trader while holding a stick. That's it.

Features

  • Hidden inventory access: view and edit the villager's internal 8-slot inventory.
  • Armor slots: villagers can already wear armor in vanilla (dispensers, commands). This mod simply gives you access to those four slots, so you can equip and unequip armor yourself. Protection works exactly like vanilla, and equipped armor always drops on death.
  • Optional armor rendering: vanilla never shows armor on villagers. This mod can render it, including leather dye, armor trims, enchantment glint and modded armor. Purely visual and can be turned off.
  • Optional armor durability: in vanilla, armor only loses durability on players. Armor worn by any other entity, including villagers, never wears out no matter how much damage they take. The mod keeps this vanilla rule by default, which is why the option ships disabled. If you'd rather have villager armor degrade just like player armor (same formula, fire-resistant items unaffected by fire, Unbreaking respected), enable damageVillagerArmor in the config. Special Thanks Thanks to Tristank989 for suggesting the villager armor slots feature, which became one of the mod's core additions.

Config

Option Default Description
openItem minecraft:stick Item that opens the GUI. Use minecraft:air for an empty hand.
renderVillagerArmor true Client-side toggle for the armor visuals.
damageVillagerArmor false Armor loses durability like player armor. Vanilla never damages mob-worn armor, so this is off by default.

Availability

Forge, NeoForge and Fabric.
