About

Description

Villager War

Develop your hero while living civilizations build, research, trade and wage war around you.

Villager War combines a deep RPG progression system with settlements that grow and act on their own. Earn renown, shape your build and choose how to interact with the societies around you: help their residents, trade, complete quests, form alliances or take part in a conflict.

Develop your character

  • Progress through up to 160 character levels using the mod's renown system.
  • Combine eight shared skill branches with separate path and specialization trees.
  • Use skill books to unlock character upgrades and themed powers.
  • Build around passive bonuses, active abilities and meaningful choices between competing upgrades.

Choose from five paths and twelve specializations:

Path Specializations
Warrior Berserk, Paladin
Ranger Beastmaster, Pathfinder
Shadow Assassin, Spy
Mage Summoner, Necromancer, Elementalist
Ruler King, Tsar, Cult Leader

Unleash a berserker's rage, heal allies as a paladin, command spectral wolves, raise temporary undead servants or strike with elemental magic. Abilities must be unlocked through the relevant skill nodes; their effects depend on your build and configuration. Access to the Ruler path depends on world settings.

Meet living civilizations

Residents gather resources, work in different professions, construct buildings and repair their settlements. Homes, farms, workshops, markets, towers and larger structures turn an early camp into a growing civilization.

Research, construction and population drive progress through five eras: Camp, Village, Town, Citadel and Kingdom. Settler caravans can establish satellite villages.

Your reputation matters. Trade, gifts, quests, alliances and hostile actions affect how residents treat you. Kings and Tsars can found a realm; the Cult Leader follows a separate cult system.

Face conflict and new threats

Civilizations can send scouts and war parties, establish forward camps and use archers, builders and sappers. Diplomacy and settlement defenses become part of survival.

Explore crypts, nests, lairs and fortresses with enemies, bosses and loot. The Horde brings escalating attacks against settlements and, at higher tiers, player bases.

Installation

This 0.24.0 beta build targets Minecraft 26.2, Forge 65.1.3 and Java 25. Place the JAR in your Forge instance's mods folder. For multiplayer, use the same JAR on the client and server.

This is a beta build. Start with a new world and back up existing saves before adding the mod.

Check the configuration before playing: by default, the mod sets a 1024 × 1024 world border around the capital. Wartime digging and fire are enabled, and hostile mobs can break some obstacles. Disabling the border feature resets it to vanilla size rather than restoring a previous custom border.

Getting started

  • K: open the skills screen.
  • G: open your class tree or the initial class-selection prompt.
  • M: open the world map.
  • Z / X / C: use unlocked specialization abilities.

You can also use /vw class, /vw skills and /vw map. Key bindings are configurable. English and Russian localization are included.
