The eighth of the ten mods every pack on 1.12 should install, no questions asked.

Load times in large modpacks are the bane of many developers. Anything that can reduce that pain is a godsend, and this does more than that. Dynamic model loading greatly reduces the use of PC resources, making the game run smoother and allowing other important functions to use those resources, which has cascading effects on lag reduction.

About

Description

Note: This mod requires MixinBooter to be installed to work, otherwise the game will crash on launch.

VintageFix is an optimization mod for Minecraft 1.12.2 that provides significant memory usage benefits and reduces load time a bit as well. This is accomplished by incorporating modified versions of FerriteCore's blockstate/model optimizations as well as a more up-to-date and reliable version of the old VanillaFix dynamic resources patch, which loads models on the fly instead of at game startup. There are also other bespoke optimizations included.

For best results:

  • Do not use OptiFine. Use of OptiFine may cause rendering glitches and will also increase launch time.
  • FoamFix must not be installed, as VintageFix fully replaces it (with more effective optimizations).

Additionally, note that VintageFix is still in its infancy and you may encounter some bugs/crashes. These should not cause any permanent damage to your game. If you do encounter issues, be sure to report them on GitHub.

VintageFix is an optimization mod for Minecraft 1.12.2 that focuses on being a more streamlined and effective version of FoamFix. It provides significant memory usage benefits and reduces load time a bit as well. This is accomplished by incorporating modified versions of FerriteCore's blockstate/model optimizations as well as a more up-to-date and reliable version of the old VanillaFix dynamic resources patch, which loads models on the fly instead of at game startup.

For best results:

  • MixinBooter is a required dependency.

  • Do not use OptiFine. Use of OptiFine may cause rendering glitches and will also increase launch time.

  • Use the latest version of CensoredASM. NormalASM may work but tends to lag behind on updates.
